Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘Treason’, ‘The Glory’, ‘White Noise’, and ‘Kaleidoscope’, to name a few.
Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT films and web series coming up. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top Indian titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.
Fantasy Island Season-2 (Streaming on SonyLIV from 2nd January)
The sci-fi fantasy drama series is set in a luxury resort and follows new guests in each episode who enter the premises with their own expectations and desires for their wishes to be fulfilled. But things do not always turn out to be as expected. It’s a reboot of the popular 70s show of the same name.
The Menu (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 4th January)
The horror comedy movie follows a couple Margot and Tyler (played by Anya Taylor-Joy and Nicholas Hoult), who travel to a far-off island. They eat at an exclusive restaurant where celebrity chef Julian (played by Ralph Fiennes) has prepared an elaborate menu for them, albeit with a shocking surprise.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season-2 (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 4th January)
The action-adventure animated series follows a group of A-list clone troopers known as Clone Force 99. Amidst the backdrop of the aftereffects of the Clone Wars, the elite squad undertakes daredevil missions in a changing galaxy. Season-2 takes place a few months after the events of Kamino.
The Lying Life of Adults (Streaming on Netflix from 4th January)
Based on Elena Ferrante’s bestselling book, the six-part Italian series revolves around a protected teenager named Giovanna. Against her parent’s wishes, she is guided by her audacious aunt, who gives her niece a realistic exposure of the other side of Naples where the aunt lives.
Will Trent (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 4th January)
Based on Karin Slaughter’s book series of the same name, the crime drama series features Ramón Rodríguez in the titular role of Atlanta-based Special Agent Will Brent at the Georgia Bureau of Investigations. Due to his rough childhood at a foster care institution, he makes sure that no one else gets abandoned like he was.
MADOFF: The Monster of Wall Street (Streaming on Netflix from 4th January)
The four-part documentary miniseries focuses on the eventful life of Bernie Madoff, a financier who is known to have masterminded a massive $64 billion ponzi investment scam – one of the biggest in the history of Wall Street.
Woman of the Dead (Streaming on Netflix from 5th January)
The six-episode Austrian mystery series revolves around a woman named Blum, whose husband was killed in an accident. But the grieving widow soon realizes that her husband’s accident was actually a planned murder. She begins to investigate the killing herself but in doing that, she puts her own life at risk.
Ginny & Georgia (Streaming on Netflix from 5th January)
The ten-part comedy drama series revolves around a fifteen-year-old teenager named Ginny (Antonia Gentry), who is portrayed as more sensible and mature than her dynamic mother Georgia (Brianne Howey).
Aftersun (Streaming on Mubi from 6th January)
Helmed by Charlotte Wells and set during the 1990 period, the critically acclaimed movie follows an eleven-year-old girl Sophie, who reminisces about time spent with her father twenty years ago in a vacation resort.
Crossfire (Streaming on Lionsgate Play from 6th January)
The BBC thriller series features Keeley Hawes as a former cop Jo Cross, who goes on a vacation with her family to a resort in Canary Islands. But soon, her seemingly perfect getaway turns into their biggest nightmare after a group of criminals attack the place where they are staying.
The Files of Young Kindaichi (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 6th January)
The Japanese mystery drama series follows the titular high school student who is blessed with a fine intellect. With the help of his friends, he tries to investigate and solve complex murder mysteries using the clues which he finds along the way.
