This Week’s Top Foreign OTT Releases: Echo, Lift, Ted & More

Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting foreign OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘Death’s Game Part-2’, ‘Gyeongseong Creature: Part-2’, ‘Good Grief’, and ‘The Brothers Sun’, to name a few.

Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated foreign OTT films and web series coming up. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top foreign titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.

Di4ries Season-2 Part-2 (Streaming on Netflix from 9th January)
The Italian comedy drama series revolves around a bunch of school students and how they deal with relationships, rivalries, first crushes, first kisses and more.

Echo (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 10th January)
The superhero series takes place after the events shown in ‘Hawkeye’ and follows the titular protagonist Echo aka Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox), who comes back to her hometown where she must deal with her past and her roots and family.

Break Point (Streaming on Netflix from 10th January)
The tennis-based docuseries delves upon some of the world’s most talented tennis players and what it takes to stay among the topmost players in the world. It focuses on the completive tournaments including the Australian Open and the US Open 2023.

Criminal Record (Streaming on Apple TV+ from 10th January)
Set in London, the British crime thriller series revolves around the clash between a veteran detective and a young but brilliant detective after an anonymous phone call revives an old murder case.

The Trust: A Game of Greed (Streaming on Netflix from 10th January)
Hosted by Brooke Baldwin, the reality game show is about how a group of eleven strangers are given a quarter of a million dollars to share among themselves. But the question is: will they evenly split the money or whether greed and mistrust will take over?

Boy Swallows Universe (Streaming on Netflix from 11th January)
Set in 1980s Brisbane and based on Trent Dalton’s novel of the same name, the mystery drama series follows a young boy and how he tries to deal with the difficulties of life and gets involved with the underworld.

Detective Forst (Streaming on Netflix from 11th January)
The Polish crime drama series revolves around how the titular detective attempts to solve a series of violent murders with the help of a journalist.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One (Streaming Rent-Free on Amazon Prime Video from 11th January)
Tom Cruise reprises his role as the daredevil agent Ethan Hunt, who teams up with other IMF agents for their most dangerous mission yet while dealing with his own past demons. The globe-trotting mission is to prevent a deadly new weapon from falling into the wrong and powerful hands. Interestingly, the film’s villain is Artificial Intelligence.

Killers of the Flower Moon (Streaming Rent-Free on Apple TV+ from 12th January)
Directed by Martin Scorsese, the film’s plot revolves around the mysterious serial killings of the members of the Osage tribe in the 1920s United States and the investigation by the FBI. It features powerhouse performers like Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Nero, Lily Gladstone, Jesse Plemons, Brendan Fraser, and John Lithgow, etc.

Lift (Streaming on Netflix from 12th January)
Directed by F. Gary Gray, the heist movie features Kevin Hart in the role of an expert thief who leads a team to steal gold worth a whopping $500 million on a plane.

Love is Blind: Sweden (Streaming on Netflix from 12th January)
This is the Swedish version of the dating reality show ‘Love is Blind’ which follows a group of marriage-minded singles who meet in Sweden with the intention of getting engaged. But the catch is that the show’s format does not allow them to see each other.

Role Play (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 12th January)
The action thriller movie revolves around a seemingly normal married couple, whose lives take a U-turn after a role play activity on their wedding anniversary. Because that’s when the husband becomes aware of her wife’s secret that she is an international assassin.

Ted (Streaming on Jio Cinema from 12th January)
The series is a prequel to the comedy films of the same name. The story is set in the year 1993 and focuses on his friendship with a teenage boy named Johnin Massachusetts.

Dumb Money (Streaming on Netflix from 13th January)
Directed by Craig Gillespie, the comedy drama movie follows the story of a regular, middle class guy Keith Gill (played by Paul Dano) and the story revolves around how the video game store GameStop became the world’s hottest company.
