Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting foreign OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3’, ‘Heartstopper Season-2’, ‘The Lincoln Lawyer Season-2 Part-2’, and ‘The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart’, to name a few.
Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated foreign OTT films and web series coming up. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top foreign titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie (Streaming without rent on Jio Cinema from 7th August)
The basic plot of the animated film follows the adventurous pursuits of a plumber named Mario (Chris Pratt), who travels to an alternate world with his brother Luigi. They team up with Princess Peach to prevent Bowser from achieving his nefarious plans of conquering the world.
Only Murders in The Building Season-3 (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 8th August)
The comedy murder mystery show revolves around three strangers Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) who reside at the Arconia. Their common passion for a true-crime podcast leads them to investigate the mysterious death and this time, they investigate a murder at a Broadway show.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video, BMS Stream, Zee5 – Rent from 8th August)
The animated superhero movie follows the daredevil multiversal adventures of Miles Morales aka Spider-Man, who teams up with Spider-Woman Gwen Stacy and a new team of Spider-People to fight a powerful nemesis. But this creates a rift between Miles Morale and other Spider-People.
Zombieverse (Streaming on Netflix from 8th August)
The reality TV show is about how a group of people must overcome challenging quests and come out alive amidst the backdrop of a zombie outbreak in Seoul.
Untold: Johnny Football (Streaming on Netflix from 8th August)
The documentary film focuses on the football star Johnny Manziel – his rise to fame, his subsequent fall and the controversies which happened, through various interviews with Manziel himself, his coaches, and his friends.
Moving (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 9th August)
The supernatural South Korean series revolves around a group of teenagers and their parents who find out about their superpowers like enhanced senses, flying ability, and superhuman recovering ability.
Strange Planet (Streaming on Apple TV+ from 9th August)
Based on Nathan Pyle’s bestselling webcomic of the same name, the sci-fi comedy series where blue beings try to understand the way of human living and traditions.
Painkiller (Streaming on Netflix from 10th August)
The fictionalized series based on true incidents revolves around the causes and aftermaths of America’s opioid crisis and also focuses on the invention of OxyContin.
Heart of Stone (Streaming on Netflix from 11th August)
The spy thriller movie features Gal Gadot as an intelligence operative named Rachel Stone, who undertakes a deadly mission to prevent a hacker from getting hold of a dangerous weapon. The movie also features Indian actress Alia Bhatt and Jamie Dornan in pivotal roles.
Red, White & Royal Blue (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 11th August)
Based on Casey McQuiston’s New York Times bestseller, the romantic drama movie revolves around the relationship between US President’s (Uma Thurman) son Alex and Britain’s Prince Henry. After an altercation, their enmity begins to shape into a possible friendship and leads to something much deeper.
