Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting foreign OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore’, ‘The Boys S3’, ‘The Perfect Mother’, and ‘Belfast’, to name a few.
Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT films and web series coming up for release. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top foreign titles streaming on Indian OTT platforms from this week.
Ms. Marvel (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 8th June)
Marvel Studios’ six-part superhero series revolves around the adventures of a Jersey City-based 16-year-old high school student Kamala Khan (played by Iman Vellani), who is a diehard fan of Captain Marvel. The imaginative girl struggles to fit in her school and home, but life totally changes for her after she herself gains incredible superpowers.
Hustle (Streaming on Netflix from 8th June)
The rags-to-riches sports drama movie features Adam Sandler as a washed-up basketball scout Stanley Sugarman, who discovers an incredibly gifted player Bo Cruz in Spain albeit with a troubled past. Do they still have it in them to make it to the NBA?
Who You Gonna Call? (Streaming on Zee5 from 8th June)
It’s a biographical documentary film that narrates the intriguing and unique story of American musician Ray Parker Jr., who wrote and performed the theme song of the cult 1984 movie ‘Ghostbusters’. The film ostensibly throws some light on his back story and how he escaped from the violence-hit Detroit streets to becoming a musical superstar.
Peaky Blinders Season-6 (Streaming on Netflix from 10th June)
The series, set in 1900s Birmingham (England), takes place after the events of the first World War. It follows the story of the titular gang that is fiercely led by Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy). On the trail of the ambitious and ruthless gangster of the Shelby family, is the chief inspector Chester Campbell (Sam Neill), who is entrusted with getting rid of the criminal activities in the city of Birmingham. The sixth season is set from December 1933 onwards and currently holds 100% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Intimacy (Streaming on Netflix from 10th June)
The eight-part Spanish drama series revolves around how a promising female politician’s life is turned upside down after her sex tape is leaked to the public. How she fights back with her career at stake forms the show’s underlying premise.
