This Week’s Top Foreign OTT Releases: Pinocchio, Money Heist Etc

Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘Willow’, ‘Warriors of Future’, ‘My Name is Vendetta’, ‘Troll’, and ‘Lady Chatterley’s Lover’, to name a few.

Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT films and web series coming up. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top Indian titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.

Delivery By Christmas (Streaming on Netflix from 6th December)

The Polish romantic comedy film revolves around how a kind and helpful customer tries his best to help a courier delivery person to deliver the Christmas gifts which were supposed to reach the respective clients, after a jealous co-worker spoils the delivery schedules.

Burning Patience (Streaming on Netflix from 7th December)

The Spanish romantic movie follows the story of a young fisherman named Mario, who aspires to become a poet. After a legendary writer Pablo Neruda relocates after getting exiled, Mario accepts the job of becoming his mail carrier and tries to woo his romantic interest.

Connect (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 7th December)

It’s a South Korean psychological thriller which is based on the webtoon of the same name. The story is about an immortal human who is abducted by an organ trafficking gang. He wakes up on the operating table with a missing eye and finds out that he can see what the organ recipient, a serial killer, is seeing. He decides to pursue the serial killer to get back his stolen eye and to stop the killer’s atrocities.

Too Hot to Handle Season-4 (Streaming on Netflix from 7th December)

It’s a reality dating TV show that involves a bunch of commitment-phobic singles who are brought together in a house for a period of a few weeks. In order to win the prize money, they must remain abstinent during their time spent together.

Harry & Meghan (Streaming on Netflix from 8th December)

Helmed by Liz Garbus, the six-part documentary series focuses on the high-profile love story of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex right from their courtship days to how they stepped back from their full-time roles in the royal family. It also features insightful remarks from their friends and family members.

In Broad Daylight: The Narvarte Case (Streaming on Netflix from 8th December)

The political documentary film focuses on the corruption evidence related to the killing of five people in the Navarte neighbourhood area of Mexico City which took place in the year 2015.

Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio (Streaming on Netflix from 9th December)

Directed by Guillermo del Toro and Mark Gustafson, the animated fantasy comedy film revolves around the titular character Pinocchio, a wooden puppet (voiced by Gregory Mann), who yearns to be a real boy in 1930 Italy. The film also features Ewan McGregor, Christopher Waltz, Tilda Swinton, and Cate Blanchette in various voice acting roles.

Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area Season-2 (Streaming on Netflix from 9th December)

Set in the Korean peninsula, the Korean remake/spinoff of the cult Spanish heist show ‘Money Heist’ ostensibly follows a similar hostage situation plotline masterminded by an enigmatic genius The Professor (Yoo Ji-tae) and his attempt to pull off a virtually impossible heist with the help of his skilled team.

Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 9th December)

The film is the fourth instalment and the first animated film of the ‘Night at the Museum’ film franchise. The story follows Larry’s son Nick, who reluctantly takes up the job of the Museum of Natural History’s nightwatchman. But after the antagonist Kahmunrah escapes, it’s up to Nick to stop him from conquering the world.

God’s Crooked Lines (Streaming on Netflix from 9th December)

Directed by Orion Paulo (The Invisible Guest), the Spanish psychological thriller movie is based on Torcuato Luca de Tena’s 1979 novel of the same name. The film’s story follows a private investigator, who enters a psychiatrist facility to unearth the mystery behind the murder of another patient.

Decision to Leave (Streaming on Mubi from 9th December)

Directed by Park Chan-wook, the South Korean romantic mystery movie revolves around the investigation of a police detective Hae-joon, who begins to suspect that the deceased’s wife Seo-rae is the culprit. The film was selected as South Korea’s entry for the Oscars.
