Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting foreign OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘The Good Doctor Season-5’, ‘Blonde’, ‘Bullet Train’, ‘The Empress’, ‘Hocus Pocus 2’, and ‘Last Seen Alive’, to name a few.
Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT films and web series coming up for release. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top foreign titles streaming on Indian OTT platforms from this week.
The Good Doctor Season-6 (Streaming on SonyLIV from 4th October)
The underlying premise of the engaging medical drama ‘The Good Doctor’ revolves around Shaun Murphy – an autistic surgical resident with savant syndrome and his quotidian experiences as he relocates to a prestigious California-based hospital.
Invisible Demons (Streaming on Mubi from 4th October)
Helmed by Rahul Jain, the documentary film’s subject explores the effects of climate change on the 30 million inhabitants of the national capital of India – New Delhi. It’s narrated through the eye-opening accounts of its citizens and by way of impactful images.
Mr. Harrigan’s Phone (Streaming on Netflix from 5th October)
Based on a Stephen King’s novel, the horror movie follows a young boy named Craig (Jaeden Martell), who befriends a reclusive billionaire Mr. Harrigan (Donald Sutherland) because of their common love for books. After the old man dies, Craig soon comes to know that he can somehow connect with Mr. Harrigan through an iPhone.
Grey’s Anatomy Season-19 (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 6th October)
The medical drama series revolves around the personal and professional lives of the central character of surgeon Dr. Meredith Grey (played by Ellen Pompeo) and her colleagues who work at Seattle’s Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.
Aftershock: Everest and the Nepal Earthquake (Streaming on Netflix from 6th October)
The documentary series focuses on the first-hand accounts of the survivors of the devastating earthquake which happened in Nepal in the year 2015. It also features real footage from the unfortunate incident.
Prey (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 7th October)
Helmed by Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane), the film revolves around a highly skilled female warrior Naru, who battles with a much more advanced alien predator in order to protect her tribe. It’s a prequel to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s cult sci-fi action 1987 movie ‘Predator’.
The Midnight Club (Streaming on Netflix from 7th October)
Created by Mike Flanagan, the horror thriller series is based on Christopher Pike’s 1994 novel of the same name. The story revolves around a group of young but terminally ill patients at the Brightcliffe Hospice. They meet during midnight to tell each other scary stories and to find a way to communicate with those from beyond the grave.
Werewolf by Night (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 7th October)
The television special follows a group of monster hunters who assemble at the Bloodstone Manor following their leader’s death. The titular character Jack Russell aka Werewolf by Night (played by Gael García Bernal) is a lycanthrope superhero who has been cursed with the power to get transformed into a werewolf and uses his powers to fight evil.
Conversations with a Killer: Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes (Streaming on Netflix from 7th October)
Directed by Joe Berlinger, the three-part documentary series revolves around the notorious serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer aka Milwaukee Monster and his confession to multiple grisly crimes, thereby giving the viewers a disturbing sneak-peek into the mind of a brutal serial killer.
Glitch (Streaming on Netflix from 7th October)
The South Korean series follows the story of a well-off woman named Hong Ji-hyo, who begins to investigate the mysterious disappearance of her boyfriend with the assistance of a group of UFO watchers.
Luckiest Girl Alive (Streaming on Netflix from 7th October)
The mystery thriller movie revolves around how a New York based writer’s seemingly perfect life begins to take an adverse turn when the maker of a true crime documentary threatens to unearth her dark past which is related to her high school days.
Catherine Called Birdy (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 7th October)
It’s a medieval comedy movie which stars ‘Game of Thrones’ actress Bella Ramsey in the titular role of Lady Catherine aka Birdy. She is a young adventurous girl who finds innovative ways to reject suitors her father has in his mind to end their financial misery.
