This Week’s Top Foreign OTT Releases: Rebel Moon, Percy Jackson Etc

Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting foreign OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘Reacher Season-2’, ‘The Crown S6 Part-2’, and ‘Yu Yu Hakusho’, to name a few.

Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated foreign OTT films and web series coming up. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top foreign titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.

Trevor Noah: Where Was I (Streaming on Netflix from 19th December)
The stand-up comedy special features popular comedian Trevor Noah as he talks about an amusing sightseeing incident in Germany, etc.

The Miracle Club (Streaming on BMS Stream from 19th December)
The 1967-set comedy drama movie follows a group of four working women who dream of going on pilgrimage to the sacred town of Lourdes in France. But the story takes a turn when their old friend suddenly arrives. It features Laura Linney, Kathy Bates, Maggie Smith, and Stephen Rea in the main roles.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 20th December)
The fantasy series features Walker Scobell in the role of a 12-year-old demigod, who is accused by Zeus of stealing his lighting thunderbolt. Now, the young superpowered hero must travel across the country to normalize things in Olympus.

Maestro (Streaming on Netflix from 20th December)
Helmed by Bradley Cooper, the biographical drama movie revolves around the complex relationship between legendary American composer Leonard Bernstein and his wife Felicia Montealegre (played by Bradley Cooper and Carey Mulligan, respectively).

The Creator (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 20th December)
Helmed by Gareth Edwards, the sci-fi action flick is set against the backdrop of a humans vs artificial intelligence war in the year 2070. In such a situation, an ex-soldier (John David Washington) is sent across enemy lines controlled by AI to eliminate the creator of advanced AI.

BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 20th December)
The documentary series focuses on the incredible journey of the immensely popular South Korean K-pop band and how they reached the position in which they are right now.

Dragons of Wonderhatch (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 20th December)
The action-adventure Japanese series follows a high school girl, a daydreamer whose life takes a U-turn when she meets a dragon-riding bot from an alternate world.

Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire (Streaming on Netflix from 21st December)
Directed by Zack Snyder, the sci-fi film revolves around a far-off peaceful colony bordering the galaxy. The colony is endangered by the presence of a tyrannical regent. As a result, the residents are forced to send a young mysterious woman on a mission in order to find warriors from nearby planets to defend themselves.

Barbie (Streaming on Jio Cinema from 21st December)
The film follows the story of the titular character (Margot Robbie), whose perfect life takes an interesting turn, and she decides to take a trip to the real world along with an equally inquisitive Ken (Ryan Gosling) after going through an existential crisis. After reaching real-world Los Angeles, the duo gets a reality check as they discover the existence of sexism and patriarchy.

Like Flowers In Sand (Streaming on Netflix from 21st December)
The K-drama follows the story of a once outstanding Korean wrestler, who wants to retire from the sport. But he begins to rethink his retirement plans after his childhood friend comes back into his life.

Alhamour H.A. (Streaming on Netflix from 21st December)
The Arabic crime comedy movie is about how a security guard becomes super rich by convincing people to invest in mysterious schemes through which they can double their money.

Gyeongseong Creature (Streaming on Netflix from 22nd December)
The Korean horror drama web series in 1940s Seoul and revolves around a businessman and a detective who fight against a mysterious creature born out of greed.

Saltburn (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 22nd December)
The comedy thriller movie follows an Oxford University student (Barry Keoghan), who gets an invitation by a fellow student to spend the summer in the sprawling estate of the latter’s family.

What If…? Season-2 (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 22nd December)
The animated anthology series shows us how things would have turned out to be, in case major incidents in the MCU happened differently. For instance, if Tony Stark was rescued by Killmonger in the first Iron Man film. And what if Captain Carter had become the first avenger instead of Steve Rogers, etc.

A Vampire in The Family (Streaming on Netflix from 24th December)
The Brazilian film follows a weak-hearted former soccer player, who just learns a terrible secret that his brother-in-law is a vampire, who intends to rule the world.
