This Week’s Top Foreign OTT Releases: The Peripheral & More

Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting foreign OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘The Watcher’, ‘Shantaram’, ‘Rosaline’, and ‘The Curse of Bridge Hollow’, to name a few.

Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT films and web series coming up for release. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top foreign titles streaming on Indian OTT platforms from this week.

Unsolved Mysteries Vol.3 (Streaming on Netflix from 18th October)

Backed by ‘Stranger Things’ producers and from the creators of the parent ‘Unsolved Mysteries’ show, the mystery crime docuseries focuses on real-world cold cases, mysterious disappearances, gruesome murders, and paranormal occurrences, etc.

The School for Good and Evil (Streaming on Netflix from 19th October)

Based on Soman Chainani’s 2013 novel of the same name, the fantasy comedy film revolves around best friends Sophie and Agatha, who are taken to the magical School of Good and Evil where their friendship is put under test.

Vatican Girl: The Disappearance of Emanuela Orlandi (Streaming on Netflix from 20th October)

Helmed by Emmy winning British filmmaker Mark Lewis, the true-crime docuseries revolves around the perplexing disappearance of a 15-year-old girl named Emanuela Orlandi from Vatican City in June 1983 after she was on her way back from a music class.

Cleaning Up (Streaming on Netflix from 20th October)

The South Korean series tells the tale of three struggling housekeeping staff members who work at a financial firm. After accidentally learning about important information related to a company stock, they decide to use that insider info to make their lives better.

The Peripheral (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 21st October)

The sci-fi mystery drama series features Chloë Grace Moretz in the role of a woman who finds out a secret connection with an alternate reality and her own future after testing a video game. But that puts both her and her loved ones in imminent danger.

Barbarians Season-2 (Streaming on Netflix from 21st October)

The German action-adventure drama series is a fictional take on the rebellion of the Germanic tribes following the Roman Empire’s occupation of Germania. The story is narrated from the perspective of Arminius, who was known for forging an alliance of Germanic tribes against the mighty Roman Empire.

20th Century Girl (Streaming on Netflix from 21st October)

Set in the year 1999, the South Korean romantic drama movie follows a high school student Na Bo-ra (played by Kim Yoo-jung), who experiences the magic of first love while trying to know about her best friend’s crush Baek Hyun-jin (Park Jung-woo).

28 Days Haunted (Streaming on Netflix from 21st October)

The reality horror series follows three different teams who spend 28 days in America’s most haunted places as part of an experiment based on theories of popular paranormal investigators Ed Warren and Lorraine Warren.

From Scratch (Streaming on Netflix from 21st October)

Based on Tembi Locke’s memoir of the same name, the eight-part drama series features Zoe Saldana as an American artist who falls in love with a chef in Italy while studying there. But an unexpected incident takes her on an emotional, life-altering journey.
