Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting foreign OTT titles including several films and web series such ‘Echo’, ‘Lift’, ‘Ted’, and ‘Detective Forst’ , to name a few.
Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated foreign OTT films and web series coming up. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top foreign titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.
True Detective Season-4: Night Country (Streaming on Jio Cinema from 15th January)
It’s the fourth instalment of the ‘True Detective’ crime drama series. The plot revolves around Detectives Liz Danvers (Jodie Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Kali Reis) who investigate the case of the mysterious disappearance of a group of six men who work at the Tsalal Arctic Research Station in Ennis, Alaska. The duo must unearth the truth while dealing with their own demons.

The mystery series features ‘Homeland’ actor Mandy Patinkin in the role of Rufus Coteworth, who investigates the perplexing case of a murder which happens on a luxury cruise.
A Shop For Killers (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 17th January)
The South Korean mystery action series follows a young girl, who must remember the unusual training given to her to survive a bunch of deadly assassins following her uncle’s sudden death, who ran a mysterious shopping mall.
The Marvels (Streaming on Rent from 16th January)
The superhero movie’s plot revolves around how the film’s three main characters Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rambeau deal with swapping places after using their powers. It has been directed by Nia DaCosta of ‘Candyman’ fame.
American Nightmare (Streaming in Netflix from 17th January)
The three-part docuseries which focuses on the much-publicized home invasion and kidnapping story which happened in the year 2015 where a couple was accused of staging the ordeal.
Blue Beetle (Streaming on Jio Cinema from 18th January)
The superhero movie’s plotline revolves around a Mexican teenager Jaime Reyes (played by Xolo Maridueña), who accidentally finds an alien scarab called Blue Beetle, which gives the boy a superpowered exosuit, thereby granting him superspeed and superstrength amongst other incredible abilities.
From the Ashes (Streaming on Netflix from 18th January)
The Saudi drama movie revolves around a fire incident which happens in a girls’ school. Now the question is: was it accidental or deliberate?
Kubra (Streaming on Netflix from 18th January)
The Turkish thriller series follows a man with a dark past whose life suddenly changes when he begins to receive mysterious messages which predict the future.
No Activity: Niente da Segnalare (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 18th January)
The Italian comedy series revolves around three couples – a pair of cops, two criminals and two people on dispatch duty as they are stuck together in a confined place (police car / radio station / container).
Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 19th January)
Narrated by Keanu Reeves, the four-part series focuses on one of the most incredible stories in the high-octane world of Formula-1 racing.
Fallen Leaves (Streaming on Mubi from 19th January)
The romantic tragic comedy movie follows the story of a lonely woman Ansa, who works an ordinary job in a supermarket in Helsinki. There, she meets a reclusive alcoholic Holappa, and they try to make their relationship work against all odds and in spite of multiple problems.
Hazbin Hotel (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 19th January)
The animated series follows the daughter of Lucifer and Princess of Hell, who finds an innovative way to reduce the population of demons. She opens a hotel to rehabilitate and give another chance to demons.
Sixty Minutes (Streaming on Netflix from 19th January)
The German sports drama movie follows the story of a mixed martial arts fighter, who races against time to reach his daughter’s birthday on time to keep her custody. But in doing that, he ditches a big match and that makes him some dangerous enemies.
The Bequeathed (Streaming on Netflix from 19th January)
The Korean mystery crime series is about a woman, who inherits a gravesite after the death of an uncle. But soon after, she finds herself in the middle of a series of mysterious murders.
The Kitchen (Streaming on Netflix from 19th January)
The British rich vs poor themed sci-fi flick is set in a dystopian world in London where a father-son duo navigates one of the last housing estates of the city.
Zorro (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 19th January)
The Spanish action-adventure series follows the adventures of a young man, who fights against injustice with the help of his excellent swordsmanship while trying to unearth the mystery behind his father’s killing.
