Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting Indian OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘Malayankunju’, ‘The Warriorr’, ‘Gargi’, ‘Cadaver’, and ‘Thank You’, to name a few.
Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT films and web series coming up. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top Indian titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.
Bairagee (Streaming on Voot from 19th August)
The Kannada language action thriller movie follows the protagonist Shiva (played by Shivarajkumar), a Tiger Masque artist who is an ill-tempered person. After an unfortunate incident which triggers his anger, he crosses paths with a helpful cop. Later, Shiva moves to a new town, but his hidden tiger is forced to come out again when he clashes with a powerful person and stands up for what is right.
Duranga (Streaming on Zee5 from 19th August)
An official adaptation of the Korean show ‘Flower of Evil’, the nine-part romantic thriller series follows the story of Samit (Gulshan Devaiah) and her cop wife Ira (Drashti Dhami). While investigating a string of murders, the wife finds out that her seemingly innocent and moral husband might be hiding his dark past.
Heaven (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 19th August)
The mystery thriller film features Suraj Venjaramoodu in the role of a senior cop and a widower who lives with his son. But his takes a U-turn when his son is murdered along with his classmate and their family. How he investigates the mysterious case to catch the real culprit using his intelligence and experience, forms the rest of the film’s plot.
Highway (Streaming on Aha Video from 19th August)
Helmed by K.V. Guhan, the psychological thriller movie revolves around a photographer named Vishnu (played by Anand Deverakonda), who is in love with a woman named Tulasi (Manasa Radhakrishnan). When a serial killer called D kidnaps Tulasa, Vishnu must find the person behind it before it’s too late.
Karagar (Streaming on Hoichoi from 19th August)
The underlying premise of the web series is about a man (Chanchal Chowdhury) who mysteriously appears in a prison cell which was closed 50 years ago.
Minus One Season-2 (Streaming on Lionsgate Play from 19th August)
The six-part comedy drama series focuses on the relationship between the two protagonists Ria and Varun who continue to share the same roof despite breaking up their romantic relationship due to personal and professional problems.
TamilRockerz (Streaming on SonyLIV from 19th August)
The thriller web series revolves around the story of a cop named Rudhra (Arun Vijay), who makes it mission to catch a mysterious group of cyber pirates in order to prevent them from leaking big ticket theatrical movie releases.
Yaanai (Streaming on Zee5 from 19th August)
The Tamil language action-drama movie focuses on the fierce enmity between PRV’s family and the Samuthiran family, which holds the former responsible for the death of one of their family members. Arun Vijay plays the role of Ravi, the youngest son of the PRV family and is also their formidable protector.
Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga (Streaming on Netflix from 20th August)
Inspired by true events and helmed by Srijit Mukherji, the film follows a village head Gangaram (Pankaj Tripathi), who makes a desperate and brave plan to sacrifice his own life by offering himself to a Tiger. Then, by using his remains, the villagers can claim hefty compensation from the government. On the way, he crosses paths with a poacher (Neeraj Kabi). Whether or not he finally meets a Tiger and will his plan succeed, forms the film’s basic plotline.
Jiivi-2 (Streaming on Aha Video from 19th August)
It’s the sequel to the superhit 2019 Tamil thriller movie ‘Jiivi’. Helmed by V.J. Gopinath, the film’s story would focus on how the protagonist (played by Vetri) and his accomplice try to correct the mistakes committed by them during the parent film
