Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting Indian OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘CAT’, ‘Blurr’, ‘Faadu’, and ‘Doctor G’, to name a few.
Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT films and web series coming up. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top Indian titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.
Karagar – Part 2 (Streaming on Hoichoi from 15th December)
The underlying premise of the web series is about a man (Chanchal Chowdhury) who mysteriously appears in a prison cell which was closed 50 years ago.
Physics Wallah (Streaming on Amazon miniTV from 15th December)
The series is based on the life of Alakh Pandey (played by Shriidhar Dubey) – the founder of the ed-tech start-up Physics Wallah. It revolves around how the extraordinary Allahabad-born teacher built a revolutionary platform for students despite his hardships and struggles.
Govinda Mera Naam (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 16th December)
Shashank Khaitaan’s comedy thriller movie revolves around the life of Govinda Waghmare (Vicky Kaushal), who tries to balance his relationship with his wife Mrs. Waghmare (played by Bhumi Pednekar) and his girlfriend (played by Kiara Advani). And in doing that, Govinda’s life becomes a rigmarole of chaos and confusion leading to hilarious results.
Indian Predator: Beasts of Bangalore (Streaming on Netflix from 16th December)
The fourth instalment of the true crime documentary ‘Indian Predator’ series follows the chilling account of a former police officer, who committed the brutal murders of multiple women in the 1990s in Bangalore. His victims included single women, widows, and housewives. He was caught several times by the police but managed to escape five times before finally getting caught in 2002.
Ariyippu aka Declaration (Streaming on Netflix from 16th December)
Mahesh Narayanan’s critically acclaimed slice-of-life drama movie revolves around an immigrant and struggling married couple Harish (played by Kunchacko Boban) and Reshmi (Divya Prabha) who are from Kerala and presently working near Delhi in a medical gloves factory. They want to go to a foreign country for better job prospects. But, after an old video featuring Reshmi gets manipulated and goes viral, the couple’s relationship and their jobs come under severe stress.
Code Name: Tiranga (Streaming on Netflix from 16th December)
Helmed by Ribhu Dasgupta, the spy action movie follows the story of a spy – Indian Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) agent (played by Parineeti Chopra), who must race against time to complete an important mission for her country. The film also features Harrdy Sandhu, Sharad Kelkar, Rajit Kapur, Dibyendu Bhattacharya in pivotal roles.
Ananta (The Eternal) (Streaming on Zee5 from 16th December)
The Bengali language romantic drama movie revolves around the unique relationship between an out-of-work, lonely man named Suvo (Ritwik Chakraborty) and a schoolteacher Mistu (Sohini Sarkar). They meet in a staircase daily but without much interaction. But the story takes an interesting turn when Mistu suddenly disappears.
