‘News of the World’ follows the story of a good-hearted Civil War veteran Captain Kidd (Tom Hanks), who travels from one place to another to read news to people (that’s why the title). After he crosses paths with an orphaned young girl named Johanna (Helena Zengel), he decides to transport her to her new home. But along the way, the duo must deal with the rough Texas terrain and other forms of danger.
