The teaser for ‘Those About To Die’ is out now. It is a Peacock original show and is going to premiere on the platform on July 18th this year. In India, the Peacock shows are available to watch on JioCinema, so it will premiere on the platform in India around the same time.
‘Those About To Die’ tells an epic story from the age of the gladiators. The gladiators come to Rome, the center of the empire and they start preparing for their game of life. This game of blood and sweat only for the sake of entertainment is explored in the show. It stars Anthony Hopkins in the lead role and has other actors like Dimitri Leonidas, Jojo Macari, Gabriella Pession, Iwan Rheon, Sara Martins, Moe Hashim, Tom Hughes in important roles. The interest in the Roman Empire is growing day by day and we can see all over the internet that the Roman Empire memes and jokes are flooding in. With a newly revived interest in the Empire, there are high chances that this show will be a big success.
The teaser is alright. It shows very little glimpses from the show and they look quite promising. Historical movies and shows usually have a good record in viewership.
The show is written by Robert Rodat and directed by Roland Emmerich and Marco Kreuzpaintner. Those About To Die is based on a novel of the same name by Daniel P. Mannix. Let us see if the show can do what Ridley Scotf has previously done with ‘Gladiator’.
