Popular Hollywood actor Tom Hardy is fresh off the heels of the success of his latest superhero movie ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’. In exciting news for his fans, the London-born actor is reportedly (via Deadline) teaming up with Hollywood hunk Channing Tatum for a war drama movie by Universal Pictures based on Afghanistan evacuation.
The yet-untitled fact-based film would purportedly be based on true stories and would follow three former special forces team members and their dangerous mission to get back into the country along with their Afghan counterparts in order to rescue many families and allies who were left behind amidst the chaotic fall of Afghanistan.
Our best guess is that Tom Hardy and Channing Tatum might essay the roles of the special forces team members, however, nothing yet is confirmed in this regard. Moreover, no director has been attached to the film until now.
What is known is that the film’s story has been penned by George Nolfi, who had previously lent his writing skills for films such as ‘Ocean’s Twelve’, ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’, and ‘The Adjustment Bureau’, besides most recently writing and directing the Apple TV+ film ‘The Banker’.
Both Tom Hardy and Channing Tatum have had their tryst with action films. Tom Hardy had previously been a part of ‘Warrior’, ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, ‘Mad Max’, and ‘Venom’ films. While Channing Tatum has done ‘G.I. Joe’ films, ‘White House Down’, and ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’, amongst others.
Tom Hardy would next be seen in the action thriller film ‘Havoc’ while Channing Tatum’s forthcoming acting projects include the comedy film ‘Dog’ co-directed by Tatum, and the action-comedy movie titled ‘Lost City of D’ co-starring Brad Pitt, Sandra Bullock, and Daniel Radcliffe.
