Amazon Prime Video has struck gold. With the number of movies scheduled to release Amazon Prime Video is winning the game at this point. One big event for Amazon is always Prime Day and if you are an avid Prime user, you would know that not only the website goes crazy with sales, but Prime Video launches exceptional amounts of movies, series, and original shows as a celebration for Prime Day. This time for Prime Day, Amazon Prime Video has a battle set up for the fans.
Well, if you are not aware, Prime Video has acquired the rights to Farhan Akhtar starrer “Toofaan”. Toofaan is a sports drama that is set to release on the 16th of July, 2021 on Amazon Prime Video. Besides Farhan Akhtar, the movie stars Mrunal Thakur and Paresh Rawal in pivotal roles, along with Hashim Azmi, Vijay Raaz, Darshan Kumar, Supriya Pathak, Hussain Dalal, and Dr. Mohan Agashe.
The movie tells the story of a small-time gangster Ajju Bhai, who has a knack for boxing and under constant pressure from his lady-love; he finally gives in and joins a boxing competition. After that, there’s no looking back, as he goes on to a national-level boxing champion.
While Amazon has a big movie like Toofaan in the ring, today it released the trailer of another movie set to release on the platform on 22nd July. “Sarpatta Parambarai”, the Tamil movie starring Arya in the lead, along with Kalaiyarasan, Pasupathi, John Kokken, Santhosh Pratap, Shabeer Kallarakkal, John Vijay, Akali Venkat and Muthukumar.
The movie follows the story of two clans who are up against each other in the field of boxing. While one of the clans has a strong contender, the other needs to put up someone who can defeat him and bring glory to their clan. This is where Arya’s character Kabilan comes in, as he trains to become a boxer, but gets derailed midway as he gets embroiled in crimes. Leading to him getting out of the clan, he vows to make a comeback and get into the ring stronger than ever.
Both these movies will be released on Prime Video, as a means of celebrating Prime Day. Both of these have the same themes but are set in different eras. Both of these tell the story of the same sport but from the perspective of two different people. Both these movies will battle it out as both of them have leading stars in the movie and are also two of the much-awaited movies on OTT.
It would be interesting to see who gets knocked out by whom in the ring, or will both the movies have the same amount of love and maybe call it a draw. We never know and the only way to know about it is to watch both on Amazon Prime Video when it starts streaming.
