Gehraiyaan (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
The film is a take on contemporary relationships and revolves around an ambitious woman named Alisha Khanna (played by Deepika Padukone) who is dealing with her personal and professional dilemmas. At this delicate juncture of her life, she falls for her cousin Tia’s (Ananya Panday) fiancé Zain (Siddhant Chaturvedi).
Writer (Streaming on Aha Video)
The Tamil crime thriller film has been helmed by Franklin Jacob in his directorial debut. The film’s plotline revolves around the titular protagonist – a desk-bound veteran policeman named Thangaraj (played by Samuthirakani), who is about to retire from service. Things soon take an interesting turn when the cop gets involved in an illegal custody case of a young Ph.D. student.
Freedom Fight (Streaming on SonyLIV)
‘Freedom Fight’ is a five-part Malayalam anthology film that delves into the idea of the importance of freedom and features female protagonists and their issues. Another highlight of the film is that one segment has been helmed by ‘The Great Indian Kitchen’ director Jeo Baby while the other four directors are Kunjila Mascillamani, Akhil Anilkumar, Jithin Issac Thomas, and Francies Louis.
Tall Girl 2 (Streaming on Netflix)
It’s the sequel to the 2019 rom-com movie ‘Tall Girl’. The film’s plotline revolves around a 6-feet plus tall girl named Jodi Kreyman (played by Ava Michelle) and takes place after the events of the parent film. It would follow another year of high school for a now confident Jodi as she deals with her nervousness about her newfound insecurities.
Hero (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)
The action-comedy movie revolves around a budding actor named Arjun, whose life takes a complicated turn after he receives the wrong courier because of mistaken identity with a hitman who also bears the same name. How he attempts to get him and his family out of the tricky situation involving dangerous people, forms the rest of the film’s plot.
Raktanchal Season 2 (Streaming on MX Player)
Set amidst the backdrop of 1980s Purvanchal, the crime drama web series showcases the fierce rivalry between the crime lord Waseem Khan (Nikitin Dheer) whose ruthless empire is challenged by a young anti-hero Vijay Singh (Kranti Prakash Jha).
Inventing Anna (Streaming on Netflix)
The miniseries is inspired by an article by Jessica Pressler which was published in America’s New York magazine. It follows a journalist’s investigation into a woman named Anna Delvey, who was able to manipulate New York’s affluent class into believing that she is a German heiress.
Malli Modalaindi (Streaming on Zee5)
The Telugu romantic drama movie narrates a quirky story about divorce and remarriage and follows a man named Vikram (Sumanth) who applies for divorce and eventually falls in love with his own divorce lawyer (Naina Ganguly).
Teeja Punjab (Streaming on SonyLIV)
The film revolves around an alcoholic, irresponsible, and immoral villager named Bhagat (played by Amberdeep Singh). But after his land is wrongfully grabbed by the village head, he transforms into a better person and fights for his land.
Cow (Streaming on Mubi)
It’s a thought-provoking documentary film helmed by Andrea Arnold that revolves around the life of a dairy cow based in a Kent County-based farm located in Southeast England.
