For those of you who follow our “MCU Easter Eggs Articles”, we apologize for not putting one up last week for the third episode of the ‘Loki’ series, titled ‘Lamentis’. The episode was not as good as the previous two episodes before it, nor did it give us much insight into the TVA, but on the plus sign, we got to see an alien planet (or moon) and some brilliant visuals. The fourth episode dropped a couple of hours ago and that was much better. And some of the revelations and Easter Eggs from episode 3 can be combined with episode 4 of the Disney+ Hotstar running series. So check out the 11 important Easter eggs from the 3rd and 4th episodes of Disney+ Hotstar’s Loki:
Sylvie
We hear some of Sylvie’s backstory in Episode 3. But we get a look at how she learns about the TVA at a very young age and learns to adapt and survive by living near apocalypses. She is definitely an aspect of Loki, but not an exact version of Loki himself. She is independent and had to learn how to survive at a young age but she also knows how to fight and learned how to enchant on her own. We have a feeling that she might not make it by the end of this series, but we really hope she does. She is Loki’s redemption and vice versa, at this point.
Lamentis-1
Most of the third episode takes place on the titular moon, Lamentis-1, which is a moon orbiting around a lesser known planet, Lamentis in the outskirts of the Kree airspace. They travelled to said moon in the year 2077, where one of the biggest apocalypses in the universe takes place – Lamentis gets destroyed and is breaking apart. The planet debris is hitting the moon’s surface and is in the process of destroying the whole moon. This entire episode is just character development between Loki and Sylvie and slightly tedious, but as a result of the apocalypse, we see some brilliant sights (made by CGI, but still)
Magic
A slightly less-explained “science” in the MCU; then again all “sciences” are less explained in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But we know for sure that magic will have a huge part to play in the MCU (in the fourth phase especially), with Doctor Strange, Wanda and now, the “Lokis”. Sylvie talks to us about her enchantment skills and how she has to work with pre-existing memories to create her illusions. Loki also shows us his usually impressive, sometimes clumsy magic.
Another thing of note: When Sylvie got angry and released a stream of green magic to vent out her frustration, she reminded us a bit of the Scarlet Witch and when she lost control of her magic due to her grief.
“A Bit of Both”
Finally confirmation. Two openly non-straight Superhero characters in the MCU. Of course, there are other characters such as Valkyrie and Okoye who are supposed to be openly bisexual, but that has never been implied or mentioned in the MCU projects. This revelation will hopefully pave the way for more acceptances.
Ravonna Renslayer
Oh Ravonna! She gets more and more suspicious with each passing episode. We get to see a bit of her back story too… from when she was the hunter in charge of pursuing and apprehending Sylvie to her becoming a judge within the TVA. There is a very good chance we will get to see more of her history in episode 5 (from her perspective), since she will be forced to reveal the secrets of the TVA to Sylvie – but the fact that everything about the TVA is a lie, shows us that there is a chance we could be getting a look at her comic book counterpart’s lover (who could be her lover in this TV series as well) – Kang the Conqueror.
Nexus Event
Loki falls for Sylvie. Besides all the possible things that tell us about Loki and his narcissism, this event causes a Nexus event like no other. The trajectory of the variation of the Sacred Timeline variance that was formed by this bond was crazy enough to bypass the Apocalypse cover of Lamentis-1, so we bet there is more to this that will have a significant impact in the series – especially after that crazy post-credit scene. Which is what we meant when we mentioned ” She is Loki’s redemption and vice versa” earlier.
You Got Some Quip You’re Dyin’ To Say
We missed you Mobius. Granted it was just one episode, but that was one episode too many. Loki and Mobius’ bond or at least Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson’s on-screen chemistry is something worth watching this series for and we hope for more banter between them in the future. Hopefully, since we don’t know what “pruning” will do to a human as we have only seen the effects of it on Asgardian.
Kree, Titans, Vampires
Now this is a proper Easter Egg. Are we finally going to see a Vampire in the MCU? Sony is bringing ‘Morbius’ to the big screen but there has been no plans announced by the MCU regarding a possible Vampire appearance. So this is either a happy surprise, a possible ‘Morbius’ promotion or possible foreshadowing of a vampire coming on an MCU project.
Also the Kree and the Titans have appeared on the silver screen already. All we need are the MCU Vampires.
Sif!
We knew Sif was making an appearance, but this feels a little sad – wasting her in a time-loop. The Goddess of Earth is wasted in this role, but since she has not been killed off in ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, we hope that she will make an awesome return in the MCU, hopefully in the upcoming Thor movie. Still, it is good to see a character we haven’t seen in almost 8 years.
The TVA
Everything about the TVA is a lie. The entire thing smelled like propaganda from the start. The people who work for the TVA are all variants whose memories were wiped. Time Keepers are “mindless androids”. Only Ravonna seems to know something and we think she might know who is actually pulling the strings behind the TVA. Of course, it could be Kang the Conqueror as we had mentioned earlier. But we have a feeling it could be Miss minutes who has been pulling the strings from behind the scenes, similar to how the Kree are ruled by an organic AI – The Supreme Intelligence. We will have to wait for the next episode to drop, but since Miss Minutes has been missing for two episodes now, we feel like she might be involved.
End Credit Scene
The first end credit scene of the ‘Loki’ series. A “pruned” Loki woke up to find himself surrounded by four other Lokis. Richard E. Grant, who was heavily rumored to portray a Loki, is now confirmed. He has donned the classic green and yellow Loki costume from the comics and he is joined by three others – Kid Loki, Boastful Loki and a reptile Loki. This is awesome. And now the agony of waiting for the next episode.
Hopefully this means that there will be multiple timelines possible and the sacred timeline will start to split off. Freedom of choice, free will and all that jazz, as one says.
