Last week was marked with the arrival of many exciting Indian OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘Bro Daddy’, ‘Badava Rascal’, ‘Kapil Sharma: I’m Not Done Yet’, and ‘Tadap’, to name a few.
Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT films and web series coming up. For this article, we have collated a list of top Indian titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.
One Cut Two Cut (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 3rd February)
The comedy-adventure film by late Puneeth Rajkumar’s PRK Productions is Danish Sait’s third association with the Amazon Prime Video OTT platform after ‘French Biryani’ and ‘Humble Politician Nograj’. The talented performer plays Gopi, an art and crafts teacher at a school that is taken hostage by a group of radical social media activists, and his attempts to save the school on his very first day.
Rocket Boys (Streaming on SonyLIV from 4th February)
Created by Nikkhil Advani, the series would showcase the extraordinary lives of two eminent Indian physicists namely Dr. Homi J. Bhabha (played by Jim Sarbh) and Dr. Vikram Sarabhai (played by Ishwak Singh). Dr. Homi J. Bhabha is known as the Father of the Indian nuclear program while Dr. Vikram Sarabhai is globally regarded as the Father of the Indian Space Program. The show is set in an eight episodes format and has been directed by Abhay Pannu.
Looop Lapeta (Streaming on Netflix from 4th February)
‘Looop Lapeta’ is an official Hindi language remake of the high concept German thriller film ‘Run Lola Run’ (1998). The film revolves around a woman named Savi (Taapsee Pannu) and her desperate attempts to get hold of Rs. 50 lakhs in order to save her love interest Satya (Tahir Raj Bhasin) from getting into serious trouble. In a race against time, will Savi be able to get the money and save her boyfriend Satya?
The Great Indian Murder (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 4th February)
Helmed by ‘Paan Singh Tomar’ director Tigmanshu Dhulia, the web series is based on acclaimed novelist Vikas Swarup’s second novel ‘Six Suspects’. When Vicky Rai – the son of a powerful politician is killed during a party, investigating officers Sudha Bhardwaj (Richa Chadha) and Suraj Yadav (Pratik Gandhi) are brought in to catch the culprit.
Randu (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 4th February)
Directed by Sijith Lal, this Malayalam comedy-drama film follows the story of a likable small-town autorickshaw driver named Vava who inadvertently gets embroiled in an inter-community clash in his hometown.
