It stars Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas in the leading roles. Both Vic and Melinda Van Allen discover that they are no longer in love with each other. To escape from the mind-pressuring formalities of divorce, Melinda gets into an agreement where she can have as many lovers as she wants. But she cannot leave her family no matter what happens. Lyne is making his directional return after a long gap of 20 years. He last helmed Unfaithful (2002).
