Top 7 Easter Eggs From Disney+ Hotstar’s Hawkeye Season Finale!

Top 7 Easter Eggs From Disney+ Hotstar’s Hawkeye Season Finale!

The final episode of MCU’s ‘Hawkeye’ finally dropped… aaaaand it could have been better. Sure, there are a few exciting moments in the show, but this has to be the worst season finale out of all the MCU shows that have been released so far. Still, this is an MCU show, which means that it is packed with a lot of Easter Eggs, call-backs and references. So, let us take a look at the 7 most important Easter Eggs, references and call backs from the season finale that could become relevant in future MCU projects:

The Kingpin
Vincent D’Onofrio makes his first appearance as the Kingpin in the MCU and he is as intimidating as ever. While he doesn’t exactly have the dapper attire from the Netflix ‘Daredevil’ series, his mannerisms and size makes him the second-most intimidating villain from any of the MCU shows so far… after Ultron-Vision from the ‘What If…?’ series.

Trick Arrows
We finally get to see how Hawkeye’s trick arrows are made. And it was exactly how we thought it would be – a lot of prep work. We get a small montage of this preparation where Clint and Kate add different arrow heads to their shafts. Clint pulls out a few really cool arrowheads featuring both Stark and Pym tech.

Hawkeye Vs Black Widow
We finally see Hawkeye take on Black Widow once again. The last one we saw was at the end of ‘Avengers: Endgame’, where Natasha eventually won and she sacrificed herself for the Soul Stone. In this episode, we get two versions of this fight – the first one being Kate Bishop vs Yelena and the second one being Clint Barton vs Yelena. Both fights are good, but the former is more fun to watch.

Kate Bishop Vs The Kingpin
We all knew that The kingpin was going to take on Hawkeye was happening, especially after he was teased at the end of the last episode. But none of us thought that Wilson Fisk would be taking on Kate Bishop. What’s more, she even beat him. But we are calling that win lucky and some good timing. Hopefully we will get to see both characters take each other on again.

The Maya Plot Twist
Maya Lopez AKA Echo gets a much smaller role in this episode. She beats and kills Kazi and also The Kingpin. While that is a huge plot twist in of itself (introducing a character and then killing him off immediately), we are not sure that Wilson Fisk is dead. In fact, Echo shot Fisk in the head in the comics and he still survived, although he was blind. So we have a feeling that D’Onofrio will be returning to the MCU. And Alaqua Cox as well.

Lucky
The pizza dog finally gets a name – Lucky. A reference to the same dog from the Marvel comics.

Mockingbird
After weeks of speculation, it has been confirmed that Clint’s wife Laura was indeed a SHIELD agent. Her codename was Mockingbird, just as speculated. Now it will be interesting to see if her original name from the comics, Barbara, will make an appearance in a later project or not.

Extra: Ladyhawk
Of course, now Kate wants a codename of her own. And she mentions quite a few of them – Ladyhawk, Hawkeve, Hawk shot and Lady Arrow, all of which get shot down by Clint. However, Ladyhawk was an actual superhero from the Marvel comics. Ladyhawk was a vigilante whose identity was shared by two twins – Rosetta and Regina Morgan. While we do not know what this name drop is about, hopefully we might get to see them in some future MCU episodes.

All six episodes of ‘Hawkeye’ are available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
