Top 7 Easter Eggs From Disney+ Hotstar’s WandaVision Episode 7!

By Binged Bureau - Feb 19, 2021 @ 06:02 pm
Top 7 Easter Eggs From Disney+ Hotstar’s WandaVision Episode 7!

If you guys thought last episode was epic, then you guys are in for a treat on this one. Aptly titled ‘Breaking The Fourth Wall’, this episode, finally, gives us the answers to many of our questions, but it also raises quite a few more indeed. The reveal in the episode regarding certain characters have been enlightening and brilliant and we can’t wait for the next episode to drop. For now, check out the 7 easter eggs, references and call backs we found in Disney+ Hotstar’s WandaVision Episode 7:

1. Agnes is Agatha Harkness Confirmed!

We are going to keep the episode-end reveal as the very first spoiler/ easter egg. This has been a long time coming, with multiple media outlets having already ‘decoded’ this theory weeks ago (ours included), but it is nice to get validation for it at last. And the reveal of how she came to Westview and slowly started changing things in Wanda’s ‘safe haven’ was brilliant, and spectacularly made. But Agnes was taking care of Billy and Tommy (the former who was getting used to his powers and started suspecting that Agnes was being weird) and now they are missing. We will have to wait and see to know the fate of the twin boys.

2. 2000-2010s Sitcom Mockumentary Special

We now got WandaVision in the 2000-2010s era of sitcoms, in a very noticeable mockumentary style show. This will remind most of us of The Modern Family, and there are tid-bits of Modern Family references in this episode. The opening theme song sounds similar to another mockumentary style hit TV show – The Office.

3. Wanda’s Powers Are Malfunctioning! Or Is Agatha Taking Control?

At the beginning of the episode, we can see that Wanda’s powers are malfunctioning. She took out an almond milk carton from the fridge which turned into a regular milk carton in a few seconds, which later changed into a glass bottle containing milk , her television and decor kept changing, among other things. We now believe that it might be because Agatha has slowly started taking control over Wanda’s domain and so Wanda’s powers are not fully working as they are supposed to.

4. Meta References Everywhere!

The amount of meta references in this episode alone has been staggering. Here are a couple:

(i) Darcy wanted to guest star on WandaVision the TV show.

(ii) Vision starts talking to the camera, then realises what he is doing and leaves.

(iii) Randall Park who portrays FBI Agent Jimmy Woo had a cameo role in The Office (WandaVision mimics its opening soundtrack in this episode with that from The Office).

5. Latest Advertisement – Nexus Pills

Another advertisement, but there is no Mind Stone reference. We instead get a strong Reality Stone in this episode’s advert. But this episode talks about depression and loneliness which is definitely what Wanda is feeling. So the advertisements being an outlet for Wanda’s feelings/ past experiences is still a valid theory.
The Nexus Pills is also a reference to Nexus Beings – Beings that can affect probability and hence can change the future, messing with the Universal Time Stream. And guess what? Wanda is a Nexus Being. And Nexus Beings are known for creating powerful children who can stand up against the Greater Forces of The Universe (Also known as Abstract Entities). Are we noticing the buildup of a major Super-villain this early?

6. Monica Has Powers, Finally!

Darcy made a reference to Monica’s cells that were changing because of the multiple times she went through the force field set up by Wanda. The time we saw her run through the force field, and even as she was being re-written to match Wanda’s reality, she managed to will herself to be the same person as before and eventually got inside of the Hex. We see that her eyes glow up when she is about to use/ using her powers, she lands on her feet after Wanda blasts her into the air and she also gets a special vision, which allows her to see certain energy flows and energy fields. Photon is here, finally!

7. Vision Lost All His Memory

This is something we knew for sometime now, but Vision re-affirmed it again, after Darcy let him know about what happened to him and Wanda in the outside world. Vision had also put a will in place, which left behind specific instructions on not using his body as a weapon. S.W.O.R.D. director Hayward seems to have violated that, and that might be why Wanda broke Vision out of the top-secret facility.

Extra: Kane Cola – X-Men Reference?

When Wanda opened the fridge to take out a carton of almond milk, there were cans of a specific brand of cola called Kane in the upper shelf of the machine. This might be a bit of a reach, but Kane or Garrison was once called Weapon X and is a mutant in the Marvel comics. This might be a small nod, again, to the introduction of X-Men into the MCU.
