My Santa
This feature is a Christmas-themed comedy flick aimed at children. The film is very old school with heightened theatricality and 90s style melodrama and is currently streaming on Zee5.
Starring: Dileep, Baby Manasvi, Baby Devanandha, Anusree, Saikumar and Sunny Wayne.
Synopsis: Isa lives with her grandfather after losing her parents in an accident. She grows up listening to the stories of Santa Claus, courtesy of her grandfather. Soon, Santa arrives to meet her, making her wishes come true.

Trance
There are no Christmas related themes in this film, but this cult movie is a must watch during holidays. Fahadh Faasil shines in this film as the protagonist. The film touches on issues which are prevalent today like depression, drug use and fake ‘god-men’. Watch this film on Amazon Prime Video.

Synopsis: Viju, a motivational speaker, is hired to be the face of a religious scam for which he undergoes rigorous training. As his popularity grows, he sinks into the depths of darkness and delusion.

Manassinakkare
This feel good film is perfect to watch on any holiday, especially on Christmas. This beautiful flick also touches on important subjects such as oldage, loneliness, companionship and family. Watch the movie on Amazon Prime Video.
Starring: Jayaram, Nayanthara, Sheela, Innocent and Siddique.
Synopsis: Old Kochu Thresia’s family is irritated by her childlike behaviour and does not listen to her bizarre requests. She finds an unusual friend in Reji, a down-to-earth young man, who helps with her requests.

Mumbai Police
Crime investigative thriller is not what comes to mind when we want to watch a Christmas film. But to cater to multiple tastes as well as for anyone who is tired of watch the usual “Christmassy” films, this neo noir style feature is an excellent choice. Watch this movie on Disney+ Hotstar.
Starring: Prithviraj Sukumaran, Jayasurya and Rahman.
Synopsis: ACP Antony Moses has managed to track down his friend’s killer when he meets with an accident resulting in partial memory loss. He is reassigned to investigate the murder and find the culprit again.

Android Kunjappan Ver 5.25
This unique one of a kind film is a niche flick which can be watched during any holiday. This feel good comedy-drama tackles important subject matters such as adulthood, taking care of your parents and loneliness. Check out this feature on Amazon Prime Video.

Synopsis: Bhaskara, a conservative villager, hates the idea of his son relocating to find a job. Frustrated, his son accepts a job offer from Russia. However, when his son comes back with a robot to care for him, he develops an unlikely bond with the machine.

Premam
This Mollywood flick is a must watch during any holiday. This film launched the career of the actor Nivin Pauly, who had completely transformed to portray a different type of character. This film launched him to stardom in the South Indian Film Industry and made him a bankable actor. This film is available on Amazon Prime Video.
Starring: Nivin Pauly, Sai Pallavi, Madonna Sebastian, Anupama Parameswaran, Shabareesh Varma, Krishna Sankar and Siju Wilson.
Synopsis: While George’s first love turns out to be a disappointment, he finds love in another woman, Malar, a college lecturer. His romantic journey takes him through several stages, eventually giving him purpose.

Kumbalangi Nights
This feature is also another year ‘round flick, which can be watched during any holiday. This film talks about a lot of things happening in everyday life, of normal, every-day people and brings about the discussion of toxic masculinity portrayed in our society. This film is featured on Amazon Prime Video.

Synopsis: Saji, Bonny, Bobby and Franky are siblings who mostly do not get along. However, a series of events forces them to keep their animosity aside and support each other.
