Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting foreign OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘The Batman’, ‘Better Call Saul Season-6’, and ‘King Richard’, to name a few.
Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT films and web series coming up for release. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top foreign titles streaming on Indian OTT platforms from this week.
Barry Season 3 (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 25th April)
The dark comedy crime show features Bill Hader as a former Marine turned hitman who finds solace in the Los Angeles theatre arts scene. However, he can’t seem to get rid of his dark and violent past.
Gaslit (Streaming on Lionsgate Play from 25th April)
Helmed by Matt Ross (Director – Captain Fantastic), the politically-charged show is being described as a modern take revolving around untold stories and forgotten characters apropos the Watergate scandal.
While the Oscar-winning actor Sean Penn (The Mystic River, Milk) will be essaying the role of President Richard Nixon’s loyal attorney general John Mitchell, the show will predominantly revolve around Julia Roberts’s character Martha Mitchell, the socialite wife of John Mitchell, who eventually became the first person to publicly bring to attention the matter of Nixon’s involvement in Watergate.
Soundtrack #1 (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 27th April)
The South Korean romantic drama series revolves around the story of a photographer (played by Park Hyung-sik) and a lyricist (played by Han So-hee) who have been best friends for two decades. They begin to know more about one another and develop romantic feelings for each other after living together for two weeks under one roof.
365 Days: This Day (Streaming on Netflix from 27th April)
It’s a Polish erotic thriller, a sequel to the 2020 film ‘365 Days’ and based on the book ‘This Day’. Michele Morrone and Anna-Maria Sieklucka reprise their roles as Massimo and Laura. The plot revolves around the duo’s evolving relationship and things take an interesting turn when a mysterious man enters their lives.
Uncharted (Streaming on BookMyShow from 28th April)
The film is an on-screen adaptation of the popular PlayStation video game of the same name and features Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg in the roles of fortune hunter Nathan Drake and his mentor Sully. The street-smart Nathan teams up with the experienced fortune hunter Sully and together they embark on a globe-trotting adventure and decipher clues to find a long-lost multi-billion-dollar treasure. The film also features Antonio Banderas in an important role.
The Offer (Streaming on Voot from 28th April)
Directed by Dexter Fletcher, it’s a ten-part biographical drama miniseries that narrates its producer Albert S. Ruddy’s experiences during the making of Francis Ford Coppola’s celebrated Oscar-winning film ‘The Godfather’ (1972).
Ozark Season 4 Part 2 (Streaming on Netflix from 29th April)
The crime drama series features Jason Bateman as a Chicago-based financial advisor and also stars Laura Linney as Bateman’s wife. The Primetime Emmy award-winning show’s underlying plot follows a family with kids who relocate to the Ozarks in Missouri for money laundering activities.
Tokyo Vice (Streaming on Lionsgate Play from 29th April)
It’s a crime drama show based on Jake Adelstein’s 2009 book of the same name. The series follows a Missouri-based American journalist Jake Adelstein, who relocates to Tokyo and joins a top Japanese newspaper as a crime reporter. With the help of a veteran cop Hiroto (Ken Watanabe), he navigates through the Japanese organized crime world.
