Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting Indian OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘1945’, ‘Mahaan’, ‘Gehraiyaan’, ‘Hero’, and ‘Raktanchal Season 2’, to name a few.
Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT films and web series coming up. For this article, we have collated a list of top Indian titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.
A Thursday (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 17th February)
Directed by Behzad Khambata, the film’s story revolves around a playschool teacher Naina Jaiswal (Yami Gautam), who takes sixteen children as hostages on a Thursday (that’s why the title). Besides Yami Gautam, the film also features Neha Dhupia, Maya Sarao, Atul Kulkarni, and Dimple Kapadia in important roles.
Homecoming (Streaming on SonyLIV from 18th February)
Helmed by Soumyajit Majumdar, it’s a musical drama movie that revolves around a group of old friends who reunite during Durga Puja in their former meeting spot in Kolkata – a theatre that is about to be converted into a five-star heritage hotel.
83 (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar, Netflix from 18th February)
The film is about the Indian cricket team’s historic victory at the 1983 cricket world cup. Ranveer Singh essays the role of the Indian cricket team’s legendary captain Kapil Dev, and the film portrays his and his teammates’ incredible journey from being an underdog team to lifting the world cup by beating the formidable West Indians at the Lords Cricket Ground on 25th June 1983.
Bestseller (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 18th February)
Directed by Mukul Abhyankar, the psychological thriller web series follows the story of an eminent novelist Tahir Wazir (played by Arjun Bajwa), who is desperate to make his next novel a bestseller. He gets his inspiration from a budding writer’s (Shruti Haasan) story. But the goings-on take an unexpected turn as an ad film assistant is hellbent on destroying the novelist’s life. The show also features Mithun Chakraborty, Gauahar Khan, and Sonalee Kulkarni.
Drishya 2 (Streaming on Zee5 from 18th February)
It’s the Kannada remake of the cult Malayalam mystery thriller ‘Drishyam 2’. The story follows the protagonist Rajendra Ponnappa (played by Ravichandran), whose family is still living under the fear of the impending consequences of the police investigation for the senior cop’s missing son. When the investigation comes back to haunt them, Rajendra tries to deal with the situation to protect his family.
Enemy (Streaming on SonyLIV from 18th February)
Directed by Anand Shankar, the Tamil action thriller movie features Vishal and Arya in the roles of two friends turned foes Rajiv and Chozhan who were rigorously trained by a former CBI officer (Prakash Raj) from an early age. Their paths cross again but to what extent they can go to outwit the other.
Hridayam (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 18th February)
The film features Pranav Mohanlal as Arun Neelakandan, who enrolls himself in a reputed engineering college in Chennai. The film showcases his emotionally charged journey and his tryst with love, college days, and life and how these experiences affect him as a person.
Mithya (Streaming on Zee5 from 18th February)
The show revolves around the rivalry between college professor Juhi Adhikari (Huma Qureshi) and her student Rhea Rajguru (Avantika Dasani), who is accused of plagiarism by the former. Things take another interesting turn when both these women become suspects in a murder case.
Bangarraju (Streaming on Zee5 from 18th February)
The film is a sequel to the 2016 supernatural drama movie ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’. The plot revolves around how a carefree man Chinna Bangarraju (Naga Chaitanya) is helped by his grandfather (Nagarjuna Akkineni) for sorting out his life and saving the temple treasure.
