Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting Indian OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘Jaane Jaan’, ‘Athidhi’ and ‘Shibpur’, to name a few.
Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT titles coming up. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top Indian titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.
Charlie Chopra and the Mystery of Solang Valley (Streaming on SonyLIV from 27th September)
Helmed by Vishal Bhardwaj, the mystery thriller series is a small screen adaptation of Agatha Christie’s whodunnit ‘The Sittaford Mystery’. After her fiancée gets entangled in a murder case, Charlie Chopra (Wamiqa Gabbi) must unearth the mystery before it’s too late. The show also features Neena Gupta, Ratna Pathak Shah, Naseeruddin Shah, Vivaan Shah, Gulshan Grover, and Lara Dutta, etc.
Hostel Daze Season-4 (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 27th September)
The comedy drama series follows a group of friends who live in an engineering college hostel, and now they must cross the last hurdle of college life: get a good job in their final year.
King of Kotha (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 28th September)
Helmed by Abhilash Joshiy, the gangster action-drama movie narrates the story of how a cop brings back a former underworld king (Dulquer Salmaan) to the crime-ridden city of Kotha in order to put an end to the ruthless rule of the feared drug lord Kannan.
Kumari Srimathi (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 28th September)
The series features Nithya Menen in the titular role of a 30-year-old woman Srimathi, who is not willing to get married. She wants to get her ancestral house back but to achieve that, she must overcome many obstacles in her village.
Choona (Streaming on Netflix from 29th September)
The series is a satirical heist comedy drama with ‘Maachis’ actor Jimmy Sheirgill in the lead role. The underlying plot of the show revolves around a group of people who have a common enemy – a ruthless, corrupt, and superstitious politician. These bunch of misfits team up to exact revenge from the politician by executing a heist.
Adiyae (Streaming on SonyLIV from 29th September)
After a serious accident, an ordinary and dejected man Jeeva (GV Prakash) finds himself in an alternative universe where he is successful and married to a famous singer Senthazhini (Gouri K Kishan), the woman who he is madly in love with, in his original reality.
Agent (Streaming on SonyLIV from 29th September)
The film follows an aspiring RAW agent Ricky (Akhil Akkineni), who is recruited by RAW chief Colonel Mahadev (Mammootty). His mission is to track a former agent known as The God (Dino Moreo), who has gone rogue and operates a dangerous terrorist organization in Budapest. Sakshi Vaidya plays the female lead in the film.
Angshuman MBA (Streaming on Zee5 from 29th September)
The Bengali language film follows the story of an MBA graduate Angshuman, who runs a break-up consultancy firm with his close friend. But the story takes an interesting turn when he falls for a woman who is all about old-school romance.
Tumse Na Ho Payega (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 29th September)
Directed by Abhishek Sinha and backed by Nitesh Tiwari, the satirical comedy movie focuses on the contemporary challenges faced by the youngsters these days. It features Ishwak Singh, Mahima Makwana, Gaurav Pandey, Amala Akkineni, Gurpreet Saini, Parmeet Sethi, and Megna Malik, amongst others.
The Comedian (Streaming on Jio Cinema from 29th September)
The film follows the life of an ageing Bollywood comedy actor who, ironically, has no laughter in his own life.
Birha: The Journey Back Home (Streaming on Jio Cinema from 29th September)
Set amidst the backdrop of a village in Punjab, the short film’s story is about a loving family and how it gets affected by the unreasonable ambitions of their young child. It features Rajit Kapur, Manav Vij, Sahil Mehta and Seema Kaushal in important roles.
Kushi (Streaming on Netflix from 1st October)
The movie follows the story of a man named Viplav (Vijay Deverakonda), who falls in love with Aradhya (Samantha Ruth Prabhu). But the problem is that their fathers do not like each other at all. So, they decide to get married against their fathers’ wishes. But their married life suffers an unexpected setback and how they deal with it forms the film’s crux.
Bebaak (Streaming on Jio Cinema from 1st October)
The short film revolves around an economically weak woman, who gets reprimanded by a religious authority during a scholarship interview.
