Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT titles coming up. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top Indian titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.
Modern Love: Chennai (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 18th May)
Inspired by the popular New York Times column, the Chennai chapter of the ‘Modern Love’ series will showcase six heart-warming stories which revolve around different generations set in different parts of the titular capital city Chennai.
Kathal (Streaming on Netflix from 19th May)
The social dramedy movie is about a female cop’s (Sanya Malhotra) endeavours to find the missing jackfruits from a politician’s garden.
Yeh Meri Family Season-2 (Streaming on Amazon miniTV from 19th May)
Like its predecessor, the second season of the family drama web series is set during the nostalgic 90s period. Season-2 focuses on the Awasthi family and features Juhi Parmar in the role of a middle-class doting mother and Rajesh Kumar plays the easy-going husband.
Dead Pixels (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 19th May)
The Telugu web series follows the story of a group of young tech enthusiasts who are addicted to a video game. How the game affects their daily lives forms the show’s underlying premise.
Agent (Streaming on SonyLIV from 19th May)
The film follows an aspiring RAW agent Ricky (Akhil Akkineni), who is recruited by RAW chief Colonel Mahadev (Mammootty). His mission is to track a former agent known as The God (Dino Moreo), who has gone rogue and operates a dangerous terrorist organization in Budapest. Sakshi Vaidya plays the female lead in the film.
Ayalvaashi (Streaming on Netflix from 19th May)
The Malayalam comedy drama movie revolves around two neighbours and friends Thajudeen (Soubin Shahir) and Benny (Binu Pappu). Their relationship begins to deteriorate after Thajudeen is wrongfully suspected by Benny for damaging his vehicle. How Thajudeen tries to prove his innocence forms the film’s basic plot.
Kadina Kadoramee Andakadaham (Streaming on SonyLIV from 19th May)
The Malayalam comedy movie features Basil Joseph as an aspiring businessman who is expected to go abroad to work, but he wants a financially stable life in Kerala. However, he rethinks about his decisions and aspirations after the arrival of the pandemic.
Maruthi Nagar Police Station (Streaming on Aha Video from 19th May)
Helmed by Dayal Padmanabhan, the movie ostensibly revolves around the events which happen over a period of one night at a police station. It features Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Arav in the lead roles.
Naam Season-2 (Streaming on Netflix from 19th May)
The Singapore-based web series revolves around a group of budding musicians who work together to fulfil their common dream of performing on a stage.
Pookkaalam (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 19th May)
On the day of his grand-daughter’s engagement ceremony, Ittoop (Vijayaraghavan), a man in his late 90s accidentally finds out about an old secret. The incident threatens to affect his relationship with his wife Kochuthresia (KPAC Leela) and the ongoing family function.
