Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting Indian OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘Dayaa’, ‘The Hunt for Veerappan’, and ‘Erumbu’, to name a few.
Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT titles coming up. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top Indian titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.
Neymar (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 8th August)
The family drama movie revolves around two football-loving friends who decide to bring a pet dog. But when one of the friend’s fathers gives the naughty and mischievous dog to someone else, the duo tries their best to get the dog back.
The Jengaburu Case (Streaming on SonyLIV from 9th August)
The climate-fiction thriller series is about how a London-based financial analyst returns to Odisha in the search of her missing father. Her desperate search leads her to the Bondia tribe in Odisha and she learns about an international conspiracy.
Made in Heaven Season-2 (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 10th August)
Created by Zoya Akhtar & Reema Kagti, the romantic drama series features Sobita Dhulipala and Arjun Mathur as two Delhi-based wedding planners who organize lavish weddings while dealing with their own personal problems. The show also features Jim Sarbh, Kalki Koechlin, and Shashank Arora in pivotal roles.
Hidimbha (Streaming on Aha Video from 10th August)
The medical thriller movie focuses on the investigation by two police officers into the mysterious disappearances of multiple women in Hyderabad with a common thread linking them.
Vera Maari Office (Streaming on Aha Video from 10th August)
The comedy series featuring RJ Vijay revolves around the story of a bunch of employees working in a multinational office under a lot of pressure.
Por Thozhil (Streaming on SonyLIV from 11th August)
The film follows the story of an academically brilliant but weak hearted crime branch trainee Prakash (Ashok Selvan), who must work under the mentorship of a senior cop Loganathan (Sarath Kumar). The rookie cop must overcome his weaknesses and team up with his senior in order to solve a mysterious murder case where it is revealed that a psychopath killer is on the loose.
The Kashmir Files: Unreported (Streaming on Zee5 from 11th August)
It’s being described as a docuseries which will narrate the untold stories of Kashmir’s tragic history and would speak about the harsh unspoken realities of free India’s biggest tragedy. It would ostensibly focus on the events which led to the 1990s exodus of Kashmiri Pandits and Article 370’s abrogation, etc.
Zara Hatke Zara Bachke (Streaming on Jio Cinema from 11th August)
Directed by Laxman Utekar, the romantic comedy movie revolves around an Indore-based regular married couple (played by Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan), who decide to get divorced in order to become eligible for a government housing scheme. But it leads to a comedy of errors with unanticipated consequences.
Commando (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 11th August)
Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s action thriller web series follows the dangerous mission undertaken by Commando Virat to bring back his fellow commando from behind the enemy lines. The show features Prem in the lead role along with Adah Sharma.
Abar Proloy (Streaming on Zee5 from 11th August)
The Bengali series features ‘Kahaani’ actor Saswata Chatterjee in the role of a crime branch officer, who makes it his mission to catch the culprit behind the trafficking of young girls in the Sundarbans region.
