Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting Indian OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘Dasara’, ‘Pathu Thala’, ‘Thuramukham’, and ‘Ved’, to name a few.
Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT titles coming up. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top Indian titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.
Saas, Bahu Aur Flamingo (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 5th May)
The crime drama series features veteran actress Dimple Kapadia as a ruthless matriarch who rules a secret drug empire. But her pursuit of finding her heir sparks a succession war. The show also features Naseeruddin Shah, Radhika Madan, Angira Dhar, Isha Talwar and Deepak Dobriyal in interesting roles.
Fireflies – Parth Aur Jugnu (Streaming on Zee5 from 5th May)
The fantasy drama series focuses on a teenage boy named Parth, who meets a mystical kid Jugnu in a haunted place in Mukteshwar, and together they set out to protect a mythological tree.
Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar (Streaming on Netflix from 5th May – TBA)
Directed by Luv Ranjan, the romantic comedy movie follows a well-off man Rohan (Ranbir Kapoor) and a woman Tinni (Shraddha Kapoor) who fall in love with each other. But the story takes an interesting turn when the woman begins to rethink about their romantic relationship.
Corona Papers (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 5th May)
Helmed by Priyadarshan, the Malayalam action thriller movie is inspired from Akira Kurasawa’s 1949 film ‘Stray Dog’. The film’s plot revolves around how a newly married sub inspector loses his gun in a crowded bus and the incident sets off a chain of criminal activities.
Meter (Streaming on Netflix from 5th May)
The action-comedy movie follows the story of an angry young man Arjun Kalyan, who reluctantly becomes a police officer for the sake of his police constable father’s dreams. But the goings-on take a turn when he crosses paths with a powerful politician.
Shabaash Feluda: Gangtoke Gondogol (Streaming on Zee5 from 5th May)
Based on Satyajit Ray’s cult character, the mystery crime series features Parambrata Chatterjee as the titular protagonist Feluda, who gets a perplexing case about the accidental death of a perfume company owner in Gangtok. It has been directed by Arindam Sil.
Jhilli (Streaming on Hoichoi from 5th May)
The Bengali drama movie revolves around a boy named Gokul, who works as a labourer in Kolkata’s trash yard. He decides to change the course of his life after learning that many of his friends are leaving him in the world of discards.
