Top Indian Titles Streaming This Week On OTT: Mai, James & More

Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting Indian OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘Dasvi’, ‘Gullak Season 3’, ‘Etharkkum Thunindhavan’, ‘Naradhan’, ad ‘Stand Up Rahul’, to name a few.

Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT films and web series coming up. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top Indian titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.

Dhahanam (Streaming on MX Player from 14th April)

It’s a seven-part crime thriller web series backed by maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma. The story revolves around a man named Hari, a forest-dwelling revolutionary who specializes in guerrilla war tactics.

When his father, a communist leader, is brutally murdered, he decides to avenge his father’s death and hunt down those responsible for it.

Gaalivaana (Streaming on Zee5 from 14th April)

After the cold-blooded murder of a recently married couple named Ajay and Geeta, their family members are in search of the killer. That’s when a mysterious and injured man arrives at their doorstep.

Is he the suspected murderer or there is more to the story than meets the eye? The mystery thriller show has been directed by Sharan Gopisetty and features Radhika Sarathkumar and Sai Kumar in the lead roles.

Aadavallu Meeku Johaarlu (Streaming on SonyLIV from 14th April)

Helmed by Kishore Tirumala, the romantic comedy-drama movie features Rashmika Mandanna and Sharwanand in the lead roles. The film’s plot revolves around a man named Chiranjeevi who is brought up by his mother and his aunts who are the family’s major decision-makers.

The matriarchs are very particular about choosing a bride for Chiranjeevi. The goings-on take an interesting turn when an independent woman Aadhya enters his life.

Srikanto (Streaming on Hoichoi from 14th April)

Helmed by Sani Ghosh Ray, ‘Srikanto’ is an adaptation of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s (Author – Devdas) novel of the same name. The show’s plot revolves around a dancer (played by Sohini Sarkar), who falls in the love with the titular protagonist Srikanto.

Mai (Streaming on Netflix from 15th April)

The six-part drama thriller series revolves around a submissive and mild-mannered middle-class mother (Sakshi Tanwar), who investigates the mysterious death of her mute daughter (Wamiqa Gabbi) by navigating through the ruthless world of crime, corruption, and dirty politics.

The show also features Raimi Sen, Vivek Mushran, Prashant Narayanan, and Seema Pahwa in important roles.

James (Streaming on SonyLIV from 14th April)

When the father of a crime boss is murdered, he recruits Santhosh Kumar aka James as his bodyguard. James, who manages a private security company, is given the task of protecting the gangster’s family from a rival don. But there seems to be more to James’s real motivations than it’s apparent.

Veyil (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 15th April)

Written and directed by Sarath Menon, the Malayalam drama movie narrates the story of two brothers Siddharth (Shane Nigam) and Karthik (Saed Imran), who live with their widowed mother. The film’s plot revolves around their interrelationship and how they deal with their trying circumstances and challenges.
