Friday is invariably an exciting day for OTT viewers and today is no exception. Some eagerly anticipated Indian and foreign films and series have already been or will be released today as well on various Indian OTT platforms. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top streaming titles (in no particular order) that are already out or will be out on Indian OTT platforms today.
The series is a satirical heist comedy drama with ‘Maachis’ actor Jimmy Sheirgill in the lead role. The underlying plot of the show revolves around a group of people who have a common enemy – a ruthless, corrupt, and superstitious politician. These bunch of misfits team up to exact revenge from the politician by executing a heist.
Gen V (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
‘The Boys’ spin-off series revolves around America’s superhero-only college for young adult superheroes which is run by the evil Vought Corporation, which is known for founding the elite but corrupt superhero team – The Seven. The story is about how these young college students try to find themselves and whether they turn out to be villains or heroes.
King of Kotha (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)
Helmed by Abhilash Joshiy, the gangster action-drama movie narrates the story of how a cop brings back a former underworld king (Dulquer Salmaan) to the crime-ridden city of Kotha in order to put an end to the ruthless rule of the feared drug lord Kannan.
Adiyae (Streaming on SonyLIV)
After a serious accident, an ordinary and dejected man Jeeva (GV Prakash) finds himself in an alternative universe where he is successful and married to a famous singer Senthazhini (Gouri K Kishan), the woman who he is madly in love with, in his original reality.
Blue Beetle (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video, BMS Stream, YouTube – Rent)
The superhero movie’s plotline revolves around a Mexican teenager Jaime Reyes (played by Xolo Maridueña), who accidentally finds an alien scarab called Blue Beetle, which gives the boy a superpowered exosuit, thereby granting him superspeed and super-strength amongst other incredible abilities.
Agent (Streaming on SonyLIV – To Be Confirmed)
The film follows an aspiring RAW agent Ricky (Akhil Akkineni), who is recruited by RAW chief Colonel Mahadev (Mammootty). His mission is to track a former agent known as The God (Dino Morea), who has gone rogue and operates a dangerous terrorist organization in Budapest. Sakshi Vaidya plays the female lead in the film.
Flora and Son (Streaming on Apple TV+)
The musical comedy drama movie features Irish actress Eve Hewson in the titular role of a single mother Flora, who is having a difficult time dealing with his teenage son. She tries to make him busy with a guitar. With an online teacher’s (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) help, the power of music changes their lives in a positive way.
Angshuman MBA (Streaming on Zee5)
The Bengali language film follows the story of an MBA graduate Angshuman, who runs a break-up consultancy firm with his close friend. But the story takes an interesting turn when he falls for a woman who is all about old-school romance.
The Rat Catcher (Streaming on Netflix)
Helmed by Wes Anderson, the film has been adapted by a short story by Roald Dahl and narrates the tale of a profession rodent killer.
Tumse Na Ho Payega (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)
Directed by Abhishek Sinha and backed by Nitesh Tiwari, the satirical comedy movie focuses on the contemporary challenges faced by the youngsters these days. It features Ishwak Singh, Mahima Makwana, Gaurav Pandey, Amala Akkineni, Gurpreet Saini, Parmeet Sethi, and Megna Malik, amongst others.
Reptile (Streaming on Netflix)
The crime thriller movie follows a detective (Benicio Del Toro), who tries to uncover the mystery behind a brutal murder. But there is more to the case than meets the eye. The film also features Justin Timberlake in an important role.
The Comedian (Streaming on Jio Cinema)
The film follows the life of an ageing Bollywood comedy actor who, ironically, has no laughter in his own life.
Launchpad Season-2 (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)
It’s a collection of six original live-action short films from writers and directors who belong to underrepresented backgrounds. The stories have been titled Project CC, The Ghost, The Roof, Beautiful FL, Black Belts and Maxine.
I Killed Bapu (Streaming on Zee5)
Directed by Hyder Kazmi, the film revolves around the story of Nathuram Godse (played by Sameer Deshpande), who took the life of Mahatma Gandhi (played by Rajesh Khatri).
Nowhere (Streaming on Netflix)
The Spanish thriller follows a pregnant woman who tries to survive against all odds in the middle of nowhere after escaping from a totalitarian country by hiding in a shipping container.
Sampurna Season-2 (Streaming on Hoichoi)
The Bengali web series follows the story of the titular protagonist Sampurna (played by Sohini Sarkar) who fights against her own family after learning the shocking fact that her newlywed sister-in-law is a victim of marital rape. The show has been directed by Sayantan Ghosal.
Sympathy for the Devil (Streaming on Lionsgate Play)
The psychological thriller movie features Nicolas Cage in the role of a mysterious passenger who forces a man (Joel Kinnaman) to drive, but there is more to the story than meets the eye.
Do Not Disturb (Streaming on Netflix)
The Turkish comedy drama movie follows a middle-aged man, who gets a new job at a hotel after being jobless during the pandemic. But his first night shift takes a wild turn after some weird guests arrive at the hotel.
