Thar (Streaming on Netflix)

The Western noir action thriller movie has been helmed by actor-director Raj Singh Chaudhary, whose last directorial was the 2021 musical drama ‘Shadisthan’. The plot follows an antique dealer Siddharth (Harshvardhan Kapoor), who visits a secluded village in Rajasthan. In the sleepy desert town, Siddharth encounters a veteran cop (Anil Kapoor) who is investigating a series of killings that might be connected to him.

Jhund (Streaming on Zee5)

Helmed by Nagraj Manjule, the Amitabh Bachchan starrer biographical sports drama film is based on the life of the founder of NGO Slum Soccer Vijay Barse. The veteran actor essayed the role of a professor who encourages a ragtag bunch of street children to make a football team. How he transforms an untrained Jhund (crowd) against all odds into a proper team drives the film’s story forward.

Saani Kaayidham (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)

Helmed by Arun Matheswaran, ‘Saani Kaayidham’ is a rural revenge drama that is set in the 1980s period. The film features veteran filmmaker turned actor Selvaraghavan and Keerthy Suresh in the lead roles of a gas delivery man and his ex-police constable sister Ponni, respectively.

Nasir (Streaming on SonyLIV, Movie Saints)

Directed by Arun Karthick (of Rocky fame), the critically acclaimed film follows a hard-working apparel salesman Nasir (played by Valavane Koumarane). He lives with his family in Tamil Nadu and is fond of poetry. The film showcases a regular day in the life of the protagonist and how he remains hopeful and optimistic despite struggling to make ends meet in his hard life.

Tehran Season 2 (Streaming on Apple TV Plus)

The International Emmy award-winning Israeli spy thriller series revolves around a hacker and a Mossad agent named Tamar Rabinyan (Niv Sultan). She is sent on an undercover mission to disable Iran’s nuclear reactor. The goings-on take an interesting turn when the mission fails, and the authorities initiate a hunt to find her.

Home Shanti (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)

The series revolves around a middle-class family comprising a newspaper columnist husband (Manoj Pahwa) and his retired school vice-principal wife (Supriya Pathak). The family aspires to fulfill the long-standing desire of building a dream home. However, the task does not turn out to be as easy as expected as they must face many hindrances along the way.

Pet Puraan (Streaming on SonyLIV)

The Marathi web series revolves around a happily married modern working couple Atul (Lalit Prabhakar) and Aditi (Sai Tamhankar) who are not willing to have kids. But their decision does not go well with their conventional families.

Great Freedom (Streaming on Mubi)

The Austrian drama movie is set amidst the backdrop of post-World War II Germany where freedom is still hard to come by. The film’s plot revolves around Hans who is repeatedly put behind bars for violating a 19th-century homosexuality law. Over a period of time, Hans forms a unique relationship with his cellmate Viktor, who is serving a life imprisonment sentence.

The Sound of Magic (Streaming on Netflix)

It’s a South Korean fantasy musical drama series that follows a brilliant school student Yoon Ah-yi, who wants to become an adult at the earliest. The story takes an interesting turn when she meets a mysterious magician named Lee Eul and that’s when she decides to fulfill her dream of becoming a magician.

Welcome to Eden (Streaming on Netflix)

The Spanish thriller show follows a woman named Zoa, who, along with four more socially active people, accepts an invitation for an exclusive party on a secret island organized by a new drink brand. But Zoa gets more than what she had bargained for as there is more to the apparent paradise than meets the eye.

Stories on the Next Page (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)

Directed by Brinda Mitra, it’s an anthology film comprising three short stories. The stories range from a sibling story to a mother-son story, and another one revolving around a gay couple. All these stories are connected by one common theme: closure.

The Takedown (Streaming on Netflix)

The French action-comedy movie is a sequel to the 2012 film ‘On the Other Side of the Tracks’. The plotline follows two disparate cops Ousmane Diakité (Omar Sy) and François Monge (Laurent Lafitte) who are forced to team-up again after ten years. Their new case together is about a drug deal, but it turns out to be a case with higher stakes and a larger conspiracy than the mismatched duo had imagined.

The Wilds Season 2 (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)

Narrated in different timelines, the opening season of the mystery drama show follows a group of teenage girls from different walks of life who are stranded on a secluded island following a plane crash. However, it is eventually revealed that there is a deeper mystery behind the crash than it’s apparent. The second season drives the story forward by introducing new elements and a new island to the show.
