The premiere of Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi’s Master on Amazon Prime Video is one of the most exciting events of the new year in the OTT world for lovers of great cinema. The level of euphoria can be clearly seen on social media, especially Twitter, where Master On Prime has been constantly trending ever since the announcement was made. To keep the excitement up, Amazon Prime Video released a trailer for Master, touting it as the full, uncut trailer for the movie. The Amazon Prime trailer is much longer than what was launched for the film before its theatrical release.
Excited fans of the movie rushed to YouTube, Twitter and Instagram to have a look at the new trailer. But they were shocked at what they discovered. The almost 3-minute-long Master trailer works more like a spoiler of the movie than a trailer. Angry fans have bombarded Twitter with scathing tweets, and they all say the same thing – that the Amazon Prime trailer is hardly a trailer, but a complete spoiler – it tells everything about the movie there is to know, without keeping anything in the dark or creating any suspense. It’s all there in clear detail.
The original trailer of Master was hardly 2:15 minutes long. The Amazon Prime Video Master Trailer is an extra long 2:47 minutes. And it gives away the entire movie in the trailer runtime, with nothing left to the imagination. Is that really a wise thing to do for Amazon Prime? We agree with the fans of Master who are upset with the reveal-all nature of the trailer.
