Trailer Talk: Arunoday Singh Exudes Power and Panache in the First Trailer of the ChargesheetZEE5 recently dropped the complete trailer of its upcoming web series, The Chargesheet. The series stars a stellar ensemble cast of Arunoday Singh, Tridha Choudhury, Shiv Panditt, Hrishita Bhatt, Ashwini Kalsekar, Kishori Shahane, Shakti Anand and Sikandar Kher in prominent roles.

The almost 3-minute trailer focuses exclusively on the powerful characters played by Arunoday Singh and Sikander Kher, playing the investigated and the investigator. A rising national table tennis champion, Shiraz Malik, is murdered in cold blood and the needle of suspicion points towards Ranvir Pratap Singh, played by Arunoday.

Sikander Kher is the investigating officer on the case, and he uses all the means at his disposal to get to the killer, from third degree torture of suspects, to sweet-talking all stakeholders. There’s intrigue in the form of Shakti Anand’s shady character and Hrishita Bhatt’s smug, confident one.

A tight, tense courtroom drama follows the investigations. Ashwini Kalsekar looks good in the role of the public prosecutor, lending heft to the character. From the trailer it appears that Hrishita Bhatt’s character seems to have an ace up her sleeve.

The series seems to be fast-paced, gripping and full of suspense, if the trailer is anything to go by. Is the murder a political conspiracy, or a crime of passion? Let’s hope the series gives us the answers by the end, or else it will be an exercise in futility.

The Chargesheet premieres on ZEE5 on 1st January 2020. New Year holiday sorted?
