Yesterday, well rather a few hours ago actually, Disney CEO, Bob Chapek announced a slate of multiple new TV Shows and Movies, most of which will be out for streaming on Disney+ (Disney+ Hotstar for us). And among those announcements, Marvel dropped 5 trailers (well 4 trailers and 1 teaser to be precise) of their upcoming web series which will kick start their Phase Four. The dropped trailers belong to ‘WandaVision’, ‘Loki’, ‘What If…?’, ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ and a look at ‘Ms. Marvel’.
WandaVision
The trailer 2 of ‘WandaVision’ dropped today. The second trailer has a lot of similarities to the first one, but we get a few tidbits of extra information as well as the appearances of Monica Lambeau, Jimmy Woo, Darcy Lewis – who have all appeared in previous Marvel films as side characters. We also get a look at the Mind Stone – the infinity stone which was a part of Vision before Thanos wrenched it from his head. This trailer shows that Wanda is stuck in a plac, but is it something she created for herself or if someone put her there – we do not know yet. We will have to wait and see when the six episode miniseries drops on January 15th of 2021. The web series will kick start Marvel’s Phase Four. Watch the trailer for the upcoming web-series down below:
Loki
The ‘Loki’ trailer starts off with the portion of ‘Avengers: Endgame’ where Loki escapes with the Tesseract AKA the Space Stone, while they are distracted by a familiar Arc Reactor failing. He gets transported to a desert world and then later transferred in an elevator, in a prison jumpsuit, by a character played by Owen Wilson in the very next scene (Which is awesome). The trailer does not give away much, but there are some beautiful visuals and we see Loki travel through time going through different points in Earth’s history. We find out Owen Wilson’s character is someone working for the TVA (hopefully they will elaborate on this later). This miniseries is expected to drop in May 2021. Watch the trailer down below:
What If…?
‘What If…?’ is exactly like how it sounds, it takes different timelines in “MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) history” and decides to change/alternate certain characters with others, to see what would happen to the timelines if they did in fact occur. This television show will be based on the Marvel Comics of the same name, written by A.C. Bradley and it is set to be an animated anthology series. The trailer shows Uatu/ The Watcher (voiced by Jeffrey Wright) as they watch over the vastly different realities of the MCU. We see Agent Peggy Carter given the super-soldier serum instead of Steve Rogers and witness her becoming the British equivalent to Captain America. T’Challa gets picked up by Yondu, instead of Peter Quill and we see a different Star-Lord. The first season of the animated series is expected to drop mid-2021, so till then check out the trailer down below:
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier
“The legacy of that shield is …complicated” is the first line spoken in the trailer by Sam Wilson AKA The Falcon. The trailer of ‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’ starts off with this line in the background while the achievements of Steve Rogers are shown on screen (in articles). Both Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes (AKA The Winter Soldier) are shown to be on a mission together with Sam getting an upgrade to his suit – it resembles the comic book Falcon more closely. The series is expected to focus on a world without Captain America and Sam stepping up to fill that mantle. The trailer for the series is down below:
Ms. Marvel
This is more of a first look than a trailer. The teaser shows how Kamala Khan, a young Pakistani-American who gets powers and takes up the persona Ms. Marvel, became a comic book. The teaser then shows how the inception of the TV series came about with the introduction of the directing and writing team as well as casting the lead Iman Vellani. We then get a few bits and pieces of the series “teased in the teaser”. The series is expected to be released late in 2021 as part of Marvel’s Phase Four. The teaser is down below:
