Trailer Talk: Pratik Gandhi Nails It As Harshad Mehta In SonyLIV’s Scam 1992

Applause Entertainment’s Scam 1992 for SonyLIV is easily one of the most awaited shows on Indian TV at this time. The series tells the story of the biggest financial scam the country had since until then – the stock market scam of 1992, orchestrated by the king of the stock market, Big Bull Harshad Mehta. The trailer of Scam 1992 was released on SonyLIV this afternoon, and it is, in one word – riveting!

Scam 1992 traces the meteoric rise and devastating fall of the bold and brazen stock trader, Harshad Mehta, and how he manipulated Indian stock markets with his keen intelligence and sharp instinct. Until people started getting wind of his shady stock market dealings and trades. SonyLIV’s Scam 1992 is based on Sucheta Dalal and Debashis Basu’s tell-all book, ‘The Scam’. And the trailer shows how the tenacious journalist Sucheta Dalal (Shreya Dhanwanthary) is tipped off by the character played by Anant Mahadevan, and her relentless pursuit of the case.

Rajat Kapoor makes an appearance in the Scam 1992 trailer, as a hard-nosed CBI officer assigned to break Harshad Mehta’s defences. But the most compelling element of the trailer is Pratik Gandhi’s turn as Big Bull Harshad Mehta. The teaser of Scam 1992 had intentionally kept out any glimpse of Gandhi as the Big Bull. But the trailer unleashes the full impact of Pratik Gandhi as Mehta. And boy, he’s got it bang on! Scam 1992 is on track to be a fascinating glimpse into the scam that rocked the stock exchanges, and how Sucheta Dalal and Debashis Basu got to the bottom of it.

For that reason alone, Scam 1992 on SonyLIV will be a very enlightening show to watch for millions of people in the country. For the millennials, who weren’t even born then, and for the eighties generation, who were too young to remember the market-shattering events of 1992. Yes, Scam 1992 will be a gripping watch, no doubt!

Scam 1992 stars Pratik Gandhi, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Sharib Hashmi, Rajat Kapoor, Anant Mahadevan, Satish Kaushik, K K Raina and Lalit Parimoo, Nikhil Dwivedi, Shadab Khan and Jai Mehta, among others. It is produced by Applause Entertainment, and directed by National Award winning filmmaker Hansal Mehta.

Scam 1992 premieres on SonyLiv on 9th October. Have a glimpse of the trailer here –
