TravelXP – Another Player Quietly Enters the Indian OTT Arena With a Unique Offering!

The Indian OTT space is currently growing at a rapid rate with an ever-increasing subscriber base. Besides prominent platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar, Zee5, SonyLIV, and the likes, some regional OTT players have concurrently made their mark. These are the Hoichoi streaming platform (for Bengali content), Aha (for Telugu content), Sun NXT (for multiple languages), amongst other players.

In an interesting departure from OTT platforms streaming films and television series, a travel channel called Travelxp has recently made its foray into the Indian OTT segment through its unique offering. Their distinctive competency is that through their OTT app namely Travelxp: Watch, users will be able to watch several high-quality lifestyle and travel videos.

Many of the aforementioned travel stories have purportedly been shot in stunning 4K HDR format, which will naturally make the beautiful travel destinations visually even more breath-taking. Besides English and Hindi languages, the videos can also be watched in Tamil and Bengali languages.

Travelxp app can be downloaded from the App Store and the Google Play store. When we downloaded the Google Play Travelxp app, we observed that watching these videos requires users to acquire any of the two subscription plans. The first plan ‘Red’ would cost you Rs.999/- per year while another plan ‘Red Plus’ offering more benefits would cost you Rs.1999/- per year.

Amidst a pack of films and television industry-based OTT platforms with cut-throat competition, Travelxp seems to have a unique offering that feels like a breath of fresh air in a jam-packed online entertainment market. Considering the price-sensitive Indian market, whether the offering (despite its uniqueness) clicks with the Indian OTT viewers in a big way, remains to be seen in the near future. However, their recent app launch and the reported number of subscribers in such a short period of time is no mean feat.
