Netflix has just announced the release date of its intriguing new series, titled ‘Trial By Fire’. The limited series will premiere on Netflix on 13th January, 2023.
The limited series ‘Trial By Fire’ is based on the book by Neelam and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy, called ‘Trial By Fire: The Tragic Tale of the Uphaar Fire Tragedy’. It recounts the devastating tragedy that took place in Delhi in June 1997, when a fire raged through an ill-equipped Uphaar Cinema, killing 59 people and leaving a hundred more with terrible burn wounds.
The series ‘Trial By Fire’ will tell the story of the writers, Neelam and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy’s 24-year-long fight for justice for their children, Unnati and Ujjwal, who died in the terrible tragedy. Rajshri Deshpande and Abhay Deol play the characters of Neelam and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy who braved through years of relentless litigation for justice.
Besides Rajshri Deshpande and Abhay Deol, the cast of ‘Trial By Fire’ consists of talents such as Rajesh Tailang, Ashish Vidyarthi, Anupam Kher, Ratna Pathak, Shilpa Shukla and Shardul Bharadwaj.
Netflix’s ‘Trial By Fire’ is directed by Prashant Nair (Made In Heaven) and Randeep Jha (Halahal). It is written by Prashant Nair and Kevin Luperchio. Abhishek Rege of Endemol Shine India, and Sidharth Jain of House Of Talkies are the producers of the series.
