Hooooooo boy! The last episode of ‘The Mandalorian’ just dropped (titled “Chapter 16: The Rescue”) and it was so good, you can make video essays about storytelling, action sequences, dialogue writing, call backs, drama scenes, acting, cinematography, etc. based off this one episode. THIS IS ‘The Mandalorian’s’ best episode so far and twitter agrees with us.
We will wait a couple of days to write something in depth about this episode, but due to fear of giving away too many spoilers, we will just talk about the basic outline of the episode and mainly twitter’s crazy reaction. Check out the crazy tweets below and by the way, SPOILER ALERT while checking the tweets out!!!
The last episode of ‘The Mandalorian’ follows Din Djarin AKA “Mando” as he tries to get on Moff Gideon’s Imperial light cruiser. He assembles a team of allies to take on the Moff, his storm troopers as well as the dreaded dark troopers to rescue the child AKA Grogu. The set-up, the execution, the change in plan, emotional ending are all perfect and brilliant and amazing and we are running out of words to gush more about the epic series finale. So instead, just go watch it on Disney+ Hotstar and come back in a couple of days to read our special episode review on this episode. Also if anyone noticed it, there was a subtle woman empowerment bit in there, which was also really great.
The previous episode, “Chapter 15: The Believer” was also another brilliant episode which saw comedian Bill Burr reprise his role as an ex-Imperial sharpshooter Mayfeld. Unlike his previous appearance on the show last season, this time Mayfeld dropped some Bill Burr-esk wisdom – which was both funny and profound and what made it all the more hilarious is that the comedian hates (or atleast strongly dislikes) ‘Star Wars’ and he is spouting out some impressive Star Wars jargon. Hahaha.
In fact the whole season was brilliant, much better than season 1 (even though the second episode of season 2 was a dud). We got many interesting cameos and had some brilliant call backs – to both the original ‘Star Wars’ series, ‘The Clone Wars’, ‘Star Wars: Rebels’ and the previous season as well.
So go to Disney+ Hotstar and get on with watching the finale, and then come back and check out these tweets below:
Oh BTW – There is an end credit scene which is a set up for an upcoming series titled ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ which is expected to come out in December 2021.
