Well, it is official. The Office has left the building… or rather, the Netflix streaming service “building”. As the clock struck 12 and the new year came in, The Office was removed from Netflix’s extensive library. And now, four days later, twitter is still going nuts about it.
NBC decided not to renew the international streaming rights for the beloved TV series on Netflix and instead recalled it and so it can be streamed on the NBC owned streaming service – Peacock. Peacock currently only streams its shows and selected sporting events in the US.
Due to this, multiple Netflix users (particularly the ones in the US) have decided to go on social media platforms to express their displeasure. And some of the most outrageous and hilarious posts can be found on twitter. And even after four days, “The Office” outrage is still pouring in. Check out all these crazy tweets from the past week at the end of this article.
Peacock has also decided to add extended cuts of The Office for their new users, which also has some of their never-seen-before footage, bloopers and cold openings. It is unfortunate that only the American audiences can watch these new additions to this brilliant comedy series. Hopefully the streaming platform will come over to India with time and we will be able to watch the extended cut of The Office for ourselves.
The Office follows a quirky group of office workers who work at the Scranton branch of the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company and their funny misadventures. The series is shot in a mockumentary style sitcom and it was adapted from the BBC show of the same name by veteran writer Greg Daniels.
Luckily for us Indian “Office” fans, the series is still available for viewing, but it is not streaming on Netflix anymore. Instead, watch all nine seasons of The Office which is currently running on Amazon Prime Video.
