Thalapathy Vijay’s Master is the first blockbuster in Tamil cinema after the pandemic. The movie released in January during the festive season and ended up as a huge hit. But the makers have surprised everyone by opting for Digital Release just two weeks after its theatrical release. Amazon offered a premium to release the movie early on OTT. But then, it has registered massive gains due to the shorter window.
Now, OTT majors including Amazon Prime Video are keen on extending a similar offer to another Tamil biggie, Valimai starring Ajith. “It is like if we get the fans of both these stars in our subscribers’ list, we have entire Tamil Nadu. So, we are keen on have Valimai releasing early on the OTT space,” a source told us.
We have reliably learned that there are a couple of offers extended to the producers of Valimai but they are yet to take a call. On the other side, Valimai release date is yet to be confirmed. The movie shooting has been completed except for an action sequence which will be shot in a foreign country. Nerkonda Parvai director H Vinoth wields the megaphone. Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi is the heroine. Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing the music.
