Teaser for Dhanush’s next ‘Vaathi’ is here and it’s an all out action entertainer with a social message. Helmed by Venky Atluri, the bilingual film is titled as ‘Vaathi’ in Tamil and ‘Sir’ in Telugu and will release soon in theatres.
The first few glimpses of ‘Vaathi’ teaser shows some intense scenes of police station and violence. The movie’s message gets through with the first dialogue itself that talks about the hypocritical education system prevalent in the country that’s directly proportional to one’s wealth.
The state of the current education system is such that best lecturers aren’t sent to government colleges to attract more students into money sucking private institutions. This leads to deputation of third grade lecturers to government colleges.
What follows is Dhanush’s entry as Bala Gangadhar Tilak into scene who is a junior lecturer in Tripathi Educational Institute. While he might look simple dressed in decent shirt and trouser he is quite a storm with his sharp action moves. He believes education is equivalent to offering to God and thus should be distributed to all in a fair manner. Towards the end one can also see Dhanush dressed as the freedom fighter he is named after in the film.
‘Vaathi’ is written and directed by Venky Atluri known for his films like ‘Tholi Prema’, ‘Mr. Majnu’ and ‘Rang De’. The action drama film stars Dhanush, Samyuktha Menon, P. Sai Kumar and Tanikella Bharani in prominent roles.
J. Yuvaraj and Naveen Nooli have handled the cinematography and editing for ‘Vaathi’ with music from G.V. Prakash Kumar. The film is produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya. The production companies bankrolling ’Vaathi’ are Sithara Entertainment, Srikara Studios and Fortune Four Cinemas.
