This upcoming romantic comedy flick, starring Pranav Mohanlal, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Aju Varghese, Kalyani Priyadarshan and so on, is set in 1980s Chennai’s cinema obsessed atmosphere, where it follows a young man’s journey from Kerala to pursue his dream of being a film director. This also marks Vineeth Sreenivasan’s 6th directorial venture.
We will be focusing on a peculiar aspect of this movie, which is the fact that the soundtrack is slated to have 14 songs, which can be interpreted as unconventional, but is also not really that much of a stretch considering Vineeth Sreenivasan’s previous directorial endavour, Hridayam which had 15 songs in its soundtrack. The first song in it, titled “Madhu Pakaroo” has been released and is circulating throughout social media as well.
Vineeth Sreenivasan has teamed up with Amrith Ramnath, the son of the famous Bombay Jayshri on the musical journey in this film. Ramnath had started composing music for the movie while he was tending to his mother at the hospital, where he set up a mini studio inside her room. The first three tracks in the soundtrack were composed from the comfort of this mini studio. Upon having heard the second song the Amrith composed, Vineeth was keenly interested in having Jayshri also add and contribute to the lyrics of the song, to which she gladly obliged.
The movie has all the elements for a lovely, feel good, rom-com that the industry always does right. It is slated to release on April 11th, 2024, so don’t forget to catch it then. So far, no news on the OTT platform rights for this movie has surfaced, but we will keep you up to date on it.
