It seems like Varun Dhawan is on a signing spree these days. After the underwhelming performance and reception of Coolie No. 1, the actor is laser-focused on choosing his future scripts more wisely. He has already completed the shoot of Bhediya with Kriti Sanon as the leading lady. The project will drop next year. It is a horror-comedy with Amar Kaushik at the helm. The latter has directed Rajkummar Rao starrer Stree (2018).
Dhawan has a handful of projects with him. One of them is also a Rajkumar Hirani production. Various media reports have stated that both gentlemen have met with each other quite a few times regarding their new movie. It is unclear when it will release. The actor also has Jugg Jugg Jeeyo coming out in 2022.
There is no doubt in admitting that the remake version of Govinda’s classic, Coolie No. 1, wa nothing except a colossal disaster. Fans of the original butchered the movie because of its nonsensical plot and over-the-top elements. That’s why Varun is looking to win back the trust of the moviegoers again. Nowadays, he is stepping outside his comfort zone and singing new projects with new directors. And it seems like Dangal and Chhichhore director Nitesh Tiwari is next on his list. It is unclear when will their collaboration will dispatch in theatres. But it looks like their project can come out in 2023 or 2024.
Varun Dhawan’s forthcoming project with Sriram Raghvan, Ekkis, has been delayed due to unknown reasons.
