Earlier today, there were reports claiming that Varun Tej’s Ghani and Naga Chaitanya’s Thank You will be arriving directly on OTT. It was heard that the makers of both these films were struggling to zero in on an optimal theatrical release date that would serve their box office prospects well. This report read that the makers of these medium-budget films were in advanced talks with top OTT portals and respective deals are expected to be struck sooner than later.
But the makers of Naga Chaitanya‘s Thank You were quick to react as they shot down the rumors with an official statement. “Thank You movie is now in the final stage of production. We have made this film with immense dedication and we believe it is an experience to be witnessed only on the big screen. Thank You movie will release in theatres just when the time is right,” the statement from the makers of Thank You read.
But interestingly enough, the makers of Ghani are yet to comment about the widespread speculations. Even when several media portals are directly reporting that the makers of the Varun Tej starrer are in talks with OTT platforms, the unit hasn’t responded to the same. The longer the makers of Ghani take to deny the ‘OTT’ speculations, the more weight it will add to related rumors.
Ghani is a sports drama with Varun Tej in the central role and it is directed by debutante Kiran Korrapati. The film also features Saiee Manjrekar, Sunil Shetty, and Upendra. AS for Thank You, the film is directed by Vikram K Kumar and it has Naga Chaitanya and Raashi Khanna in the lead roles.
