Anand Menen’s directorial movie Vazha released yesterday and it seems the movie has quite a good response on social media. The movie is a dramedy that intends on depicting the problem faced by teenage boys due to the parental and peer pressure and amidst it the changes occurring in their lives. The movie though could not make a huge impact on the box office, still it was able to win the hearts of the people who watched it.
The movie talks about the lives of school going teenage boys and hails the subtitle “Biopic of a Billion Boys”. Hence making it a relatable issue for all the teenage boys in India. The movie is a clever amalgamation of emotion and comedy. In the first half, the movie tries to capture its audiences through the use of relatable comedy, and later as it comes into its main conflict, it creates an emotional angle in the plot making it a complete package. Thanks to the clever writing of Vipin Das, one does not get bored while watching. The cast of the movie especially the main actors Azees Nedumangad, Kottayam Nazeer, Jagadeesh, and Noby Marcose have displayed very strong performances in the movie and their performances make the movie even more engaging and captivating. The best part of the movie is its humor, which is not stale and cliché, but is witty and relatable to watch.
Though the movie has many ups, still there are several elements that could have been better. The movie has a very simple and linear plot which lacks intensity and clever conflicts. This makes the movie very predictable and hence less enjoyable. The movie also has a superficial writing, which one cannot expect from Vipin Das. This makes the characters very less explorable and hence makes the movie boring.
Other than that, the movie is very good and portrays a very relevant issue of society. The movie makes good use of humor to grab its audience and hook to the main content. If one is interested in light comedy, one should surely go for this movie.
