“Saindhav,” the recent Telugu action thriller film, directed by Sailesh Kolanu and produced by Venkat Boyanapalli has been released. The movie features a grand cast, including Venkatesh Daggubati, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Arya, Shraddha Srinath, Ruhani Sharma, and Andrea Jeremiah.
The story revolves around Saindhav Koneru, played by Venkatesh Daggubati, leading a seemingly ordinary life with his wife, Manogya (Shraddha Srinath), and daughter, Gayathri. Interestingly, Saindhav Koneru is called SaiKo. That says enough about the characterisation of the leading man in the film.
However, their lives take a drastic turn when Gayathri is diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy, requiring a costly injection of a particular medicine priced at ₹17 crores. It is no fantasy as a lot of middle-class people are forced to deal with such situations and the only hope seems to be crowdfunding in this case. To fund his daughter’s treatment, Saindhav Koneru, reluctantly returns to a life of crime, facing off against formidable adversaries, including the ruthless gangster Vikas Malik, played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. It is nothing but a typical origin story of a gangster whose crimes are justified in the name of a sad story.
Released on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, “Saindhav” will be available on the popular streaming platform Prime Video as its OTT partner. Yes, the streaming partner of the film is Prime Video and the movie may be released on it after completing 4 weeks of theatrical release.
