The highly anticipated Venom 3, led by Tom Hardy, has received an exciting update from one of its cast members, Juno Temple. Not much is known about its plot, but we do know that Hardy co-wrote the threequel’s script with Kelly Marcel, who also helmed the film.
Juno Temple made an appearance at the recently concluded 2024 SAG Awards. One of the reporters from Variety asked the actress about her role in Venom 3. She did not reveal details about her character in the upcoming movie. However, she did offer an update about the movie’s filming status. She confirmed that the filming has come “close to an end” and added that the movie would be “good”.
“We’re coming close to an end at the moment. It’s been a wild, wonderful ride. It’s so new to me. It’s a big set! This is crazy. It’s been so much fun and I got to work with such cool people. I’ve been so lucky in my career to just have the most incredible casts. I can’t wait for it to get out into the world. I think it’s going to be a good one.”
There is no denying that the SSU heavily relies on Venom 3, as its previous entries are the only movies that have actually stood out in Sony’s live-action superhero franchise. Yes, their critical reception was moderate, but the audience’s response to these movies was more positive. Venom (2018) minted over $850 million, and Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021) grossed over $500 million globally. The remaining SSU entries offered disastrous results. Madame Web, starring Dakota Johnson, has bombed at the global box office with its current collection of $56.8 million.
The primary reason behind the SSU’s recent failures is Sony’s decision to keep a distance from the MCU. Sony has developed an entire superhero franchise based on Spider-Man-related characters without sharing any major connection with Marvel Studios. Both previous Venom entries performed brilliantly as the antihero treasures a large fan following. So, we should expect Venom 3 to perform outstandingly as well.
