Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay is currently occupied with Beast, which is being directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. He will be joining hands with Vamshi Paidipally for his immediate next project, which is tentatively titled Thalapathy 66. It is all but confirmed that Lokesh Kanagaraj, who helmed Vijay’s Master will be directing the star actor again for Thalapthy 67. Now, the focus is on Thalapthy 68, which in all fairness, won’t be materializing in the near future.
There are several reports pertaining to Thalapathy 68. While a few say talismanic filmmaker Vetrimaaran will be helming the project, others say, Atlee, who previously delivered three blockbusters, namely Theri, Mersal, and Bigil to Vijay will be collaborating with the star hero again for Thalapathy 68. Either way, Vijay’s fans are in for a mega treat as both Vetrimaaran and Atlee are in red-hot form and are sure to deliver a winning film with Vijay in the central role.
But as per reliable sources, not Vetrimaaran, but Atlee will be helming Thalapathy 68. The same might be announced shortly. This project is likely to hit the floors towards the end of 2023. Vijay will be wrapping up Thalapathy 66 and 67 before he commences the Atlee directorial.
As for Atlee, he is currently busy with his maiden Bollywood film, starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. He will set his focus on Thalapathy 68 once he is done with the Bollywood project. He might even take up another project before he commences shoot for Thalapathy 68.
So, all those who have been eagerly waiting for Thalapathy to collaborate with Vetrimaaran, including us might have to wait for some more time before this blockbuster duo comes together for a project.
