The release date for Vidya Balan‘s next theatrical film is out now. ‘Neeyat‘ directed by Anu Menon will be the first big screen release of the actress after lockdown. Vidya has been seen in various OTT releases like Sherni or Jalsa.
The film is produced jointly by Amazon Prime Video and Abundantia Entertainment. The crew of Shakuntala Devi is reuniting with the actor through this film. Neeyat is a murder mystery where Vidya Balan will be playing the role of a detective.
Apart from Vidya, the film includes other actors like Ram Kapoor, Rahul Bose, Neeraj Kabi, Shahana Goswami, Amrita Puri, Dipannita Sharma, Niki Walia, Shashank Arora and Prajakta Koli. With such powerful actors like Neeraj Kabi or Rahul Bose, we are sure to get some really awesome performances in the movie.
The screenplay is written by Anu Menon, Priya Venkataraman, Advaita Kala and Girvani Dhyani. This is the second time Vidya is collaborating with Menon. The first time was with Shakuntala Devi that came out in 2020. Neeyat is a whodunit film that tells the story of a murder that happens in a billionaire’s house party. This is the second time Vidya Balan is playing a detective. The first time was in 2014 where she was seen in and as Bobby Jasoos. Bobby was a simpleton middle class girl who runs a detective agency all on her own and somehow manages to solve a case that goes beyond the ordinary conventions she previously held. In Neeyat too, she will be playing a unique and different detective. Hope it will be successful as well. If you like mystery thrillers go and watch Neeyat when it comes to the theaters on July 7th.
