Sithara Entertainment’s upcoming project starring Vijay Deverakonda in lead role has now got a release date. The yet to be titled film will be helmed by ‘Jersey’ filmmaker Gowtam Tinnanuri and is Deverakonda’s 12th film in lead role. #VD12 wil release in cinemas on 28th March, 2025.
The announcement for #VD12 (working title) release date came with a new intense first look poster featuring Vijay in a rugged look crying out in the dark with rain pouring on his face. The poster also mentions that the film’s title will be revealed later this month.
#VD12 is most likely a thrilling spy-action drama going by the hints dropped through film’s promotions. In the recent post declaring the release date, a part of the caption reads, “Destiny calls,
Bloodshed awaits,
A new king shall rise.”
The film marks first such collaboration between Vijay Deverakonda and Gowtam Tinnanuri and is produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya. #VD12 is bankrolled under the banners of Sithara Entertainment, Srikara Studios and Fortune Four Cinemas.
Gowtam Tinnanuri made his directorial debut with ‘Malli Raava’ in 2017 but it was Nani starrer ’Jersey’ (2019) that shot him to fame. He even directed the Hindi remake of ‘Jersey’ starring Shahid Kapoor.
As for ‘Arjun Reddy’ fame Vijay Deverakonda, his recent films haven’t been up to the mark. His Bollywood debut ‘Liger’ was a disaster, Telugu rom-com ‘Kushi’ was underwhelming, and Telugu action comedy drama ‘The Family Star’ was a box office bomb. And that’s why #VD12’s success becomes more so important for the young star to make a much needed comeback.
